For the better part of four decades, director Sam Raimi has been one of Hollywood’s top horror and superhero directors.

This week, Raimi is coming back to theaters with Send Help, a new horror thriller starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien.

While Send Help looks very enticing, you don’t have to go to the theater to see Raimi’s talent in action.

Watch With Us has put together our list of the 5 best Sam Raimi movies you can stream right now from the comfort of your home.

4 Best Free Movies to Watch on YouTube, Pluto TV, Tubi and More (January 2026)

5. ‘The Gift’ (2000)

Before making the leap to superhero cinema, Raimi directed a supernatural thriller called The Gift, which was cowritten by Billy Bob Thornton. Cate Blanchett stars as Annie Wilson, a widowed mother who supports herself with her psychic gift. Unlike other psychic readers, Annie is the real deal, and her abilities have also made her some enemies in town. No. 1 among them is Donnie Barksdale (Keanu Reeves), the abusive husband of Valerie Barksdale (Hilary Swank).

When a local woman, Jessica King (Katie Holmes), is murdered, Annie is instrumental in finding her body and fingering Donnie as her killer. To Annie’s horror, she soon realizes that Donnie is innocent, and the real killer is coming after her next.

The Gift is streaming on Kanopy.

4. ‘Drag Me To Hell’ (2009)

Drag Me To Hell was one of the final films to feature Alison Lohman in a leading role before her early retirement from acting. She’s very compelling in this flick as Christine Brown, a bank employee who is presented with a moral choice. She can either help an old woman, Sylvia Ganush (Lorna Raver), save her home from foreclosure or angle for a promotion by refusing to aid her.

4 Best Free Movies to Watch on YouTube, Pluto TV, Tubi and More (January 2026)

Christine makes a bad choice, and she’s definitely crossed the wrong woman. Sylvia curses Christine with a one-way trip to Hell if she can’t find a way to break it in time. Christine doesn’t really believe in the supernatural, but she will. Before she’s carted off from this mortal coil, the curse torments Christine and threatens to drive her mad. There’s only one solution, but it requires Christine to do something truly evil.

Drag Me To Hell is streaming on HBO Max.

3. ‘Army of Darkness’ (1993)

The first two Evil Dead movies had a greater emphasis on horror than comedy. The reverse was true for the third film, Army of Darkness. It’s so funny and quotable that you won’t care that this used to be a seriously scary franchise. Bruce Campbell gives one of the best performances of his career as Ash Williams, a modern man who finds himself trapped in Arthurian England.

Campbell plays opposite himself for an extended part of the movie, as Ash gains an evil double as well as tiny malevolent versions of himself. At some points, Army of Darkness slips into pure slapstick comedy. But it’s just serious enough that the final battle between Ash and the titular army is one for the ages.

Army of Darkness is available for rent or purchase on Prime Video.

2. ‘Spider-Man 2’ (2004)

There was a time when Spider-Man 2 was the pinnacle of superhero movies. Raimi’s original Spider-Man is a classic in the genre, but this is a terrific film that surpasses its predecessor. As Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) watches the love of his life, Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), slip away, his Spider-Man powers abandon him.

Meanwhile, Peter’s friend, Harry Osborn (James Franco), wants to kill Spider-Man because he believes Peter’s alter ego murdered his father. The tragic emergence of Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) gives Harry the chance to get his revenge on Peter. But Harry doesn’t know what he’s unleashed, as Doc Ock targets MJ to get to Peter.

Spider-Man 2 is streaming on Disney+.

1. ‘A Simple Plan’ (1998)

Sam Raimi’s best movie is A Simple Plan, a down-to-earth crime story that has no supernatural or superhero elements. But we can’t say there aren’t any horror aspects to this tale, because things go terribly wrong for Hank Mitchell (Bill Paxton), his brother, Jacob Mitchell (Billy Bob Thornton), and their mutual friend, Lou Chambers (Brent Briscoe).

13 Best Movies on Shudder to Stream Right Now (January 2026)

In the woods near their homes, this trio discovers a plane full of millions of dollars of stolen cash that they decide to keep for themselves. But this kind of money breeds suspicion even among close friends, and someone is bound to come looking for it. As the secret weighs upon Hank and Jacob, they do unthinkable things to protect themselves and their share of the money. It’s a devil’s bargain, but even sacrificing their souls might not be enough to get away with their crimes.

A Simple Plan is streaming on Kanopy.
