AUBURN — The SHRM Maine State Council (SHRM Maine), an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, has opened nominations for its annual HR Awards Program. The program is an opportunity for Maine employers to recognize the human resources professionals who help to transform workplaces, elevate people, and inspire the Maine business community.
“Every spring, we come together to recognize HR leaders who have made a lasting impact on our careers, communities, and places of work,” said Jodie Griffith, state director for SHRM Maine and past award winner. “We often hear from colleagues that working in human resources can be an isolating position as much of the work is confidential. Winning a SHRM Maine award reinforces and recognizes the time and energy invested by HR professionals and reminds them of their value.”
The HR Awards Program began over 15 years ago, and there are three different awards that professionals can be nominated for.
Maine HR Leader of the Year: Professionals who embody excellence in ethical and strategic HR leadership; transformational impact and organizational change; collaboration and partnership excellence; visionary workforce strategy and leadership.
Maine HR Volunteer Leader of the Year: Leaders with a passion and commitment to HR service; advancement of the HR profession through service and mentorship; excellence in HR volunteer leadership; active engagement and contribution to the HR community.
Rebecca Webber Lifetime Achievement Award: Professionals who have made lifetime contributions and lasting impact in HR spanning at least 20 years; advocacy and elevation of the HR profession; thought leadership and innovation in HR practice; exemplary mentorship and servant leadership; dedication and service to the HR community.
More information on award criteria and how to nominate an HR leader can be found on the SHRM Maine website. Nominations must be submitted by individuals who have worked directly with a nominee through employment or a professional affiliation capacity and can provide a firsthand account of their contributions, performance, and impact. Submissions close March 27. Award winners will be determined in April and will be announced at the annual Maine HR Convention in Rockport in May.
