Ted Lasso is heading back to the soccer field with a new team.

In a first look of season 4 courtesy of Apple TV, Ted (Jason Sudeikis) is seen donning his signature outfit while coaching a group of women alongside assistant Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) and a new assistant coach (played by Tanya Reynolds).

In one photo, Ted exchanged his pink box filled with homemade biscuits with Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) beside an aircraft.

Another image shows Ted seated at the beloved Crown & Anchor pub, as owner Mae (Annette Badland) smiles while holding a platter. He is sitting beside Grant Feely, who is taking over the role of Ted’s son, Henry, from Gus Turner.

Jason Sudeikis Confirms ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Is Officially Happening

“In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team,” a news release teased on Wednesday, January 28. “Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

Deadline reported that Ted Lasso season 4 is currently in production in London.

Apple TV confirmed in summer 2025 that Ted Lasso would be returning for season 4, with new cast members Reynolds, Feely, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey and Abbie Hern.

In photos released at the time, Sudeikis, Waddingham, Juno Temple and Jeremy Swift were all seated in a corner booth at a restaurant. The group, alongside Brett Goldstein and Hunt, are confirmed to return, according to Apple TV’s press release.

‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Is Missing Main Cast Members Amid Scheduling Conflict

The hit series — which premiered in 2020 — centers around American football coach Ted, who moves across the pond to coach a British soccer team. After the show wrapped up season 3 in 2023, Sudeikis claimed that the “story is done.”

“It sounds like such a political answer, but it’s the truth,” Sudeikis claimed on the “Fly on the Wall” podcast at the time. We only conceived these three [seasons], then this thing became this big old thing.”

Sudeikis went on to note that the team had considered the possibility of a spinoff.

“Whether it’s [a book], whether it’s doing podcasts about the episodes to offer those audio commentaries … just to talk through things and the themes,” he shared. “And also it would explain the show in a much more cerebral way than I ever would have been able to explain it to anybody. Yeah, there’s opportunities, I think, for spinoffs.”

Which ‘Ted Lasso’ Stars Are — And Aren’t — Returning for Season 4?

Sudeikis went on to pitch the idea of multiple characters from the Ted Lasso universe getting their own show.

“I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks … to get to watch the further telling of these stories,” he told Deadline in March 2023. “I can’t help but take the question as flattery for what all of us that were working on the show has tried to do. It’s really kind of folks to even consider that because you never know what’s gonna happen when you make things. The fact that people want more, even if it’s a different avenue is lovely.”
