Vanessa Hudgens and her husband, Cole Tucker, have their hands full as parents of two kids under 2.
“[We have] two kids now,” Tucker, 29, said on a recent episode of the “Baseball Isn’t Boring” podcast. “I got [kids who are] 7 weeks and a year-and-a-half right now. I’m in the fight.”
Hudgens, 37, gave birth to the couple’s first child in July 2024, one year before welcoming baby No. 2 in November 2025. The High School Musical actress and Tucker did not immediately reveal their children’s names or sexes.
“Baseball Isn’t Boring” host Rob Bradford, however, asked on his January podcast whether Tucker and Hudgens had sons or daughters.

“[We have] one of each,” Tucker replied, going on to share his parenthood hopes. “I want him to do whatever he wants to do, but my wife and I want to expose him to as much as we can. He was born on July 1st last year, and he [already] plays the drums and the piano and the guitar and baseball.”
Tucker, a former MLB athlete, stressed that he isn’t pushing his firstborn son to follow in his baseball footsteps.
“He hits the ball off the tee, and he swings golf clubs and hits the ball — and he’s shooting hoops, now,” Tucker teased of the pair’s son. “He loves basketball. We just want to show him everything and whatever he wants to do, we’ll support him.”
He continued, “[If he wants] to be a dentist, sell something … be a school teacher [or] a rock star, it’s all good. We’re very open-minded.”
Tucker retired from the MLB in 2025, while Hudgens has been working as an actress and musician since she was a child.

“My wife and I both ended up having jobs that people told us would never, like, come true or would never come to fruition, so we’re very open-minded,” Tucker acknowledged. “Whatever our kids want to do, we’ll support them and love them no matter what. I don’t want [my son] to feel like he has any pressure to be a baseball player.”
Despite laying off any pressure to hit the diamond, Tucker still wants his son to “play baseball as a kid.”
“I think everyone should play baseball ‘cause it teaches you so much about yourself and life and working with other people and whatnot,” Tucker said. “I want him to have that experience, and my wife is super excited to be the T-ball team mom, you know how that goes, but I don’t want him to feel, like, ‘You have to go to the big leagues [because] Dad did.’ That pressure and anxiety would suck, but if you want, let’s go.”
Until then, Tucker is embracing the small milestones with his young kids.
“I’m doing a lot of dad walks, a lot of up-and-down incline, like, a sled push,” he quipped of his post-retirement workouts. “I feel like I’m in pretty good shape for a dad right now. … I’m in great dad shape, a lot of hands and knees. I feel like I’m doing yoga-adjacent type things.”
