Jaime King’s surprise marriage to estranged husband Austin Sosa is ending in divorce.
Though it’s unclear when exactly the pair tied the knot, multiple outlets confirmed on Thursday, January 22, that Sosa filed for divorce from King. News of their split comes seven months after their engagement was announced in July 2025.
“I was completely blindsided by the divorce filing, which came out of nowhere,” King told Us Weekly in a statement, claiming that she and Sosa were together “the night before” their divorce news broke.
“While like many marriages we had normal challenges, I genuinely believed we were working on our relationship,” she added.

The actress was spotted out with hotelier Vikram Chatwal weeks before Sosa filed for divorce, but King’s rep confirmed to Us Weekly that the pair are “just friends.”
According to the rep, King was “very happy in her relationship” with Sosa.
Months after the couple’s engagement made headlines, King spoke to Us exclusively about this new chapter of her life. (King moved on with Sosa after splitting from ex-husband Kyle Newman in 2020. Their divorce was finalized in 2023.)
“I feel like my engagement is to myself, in the best way,” King said in October 2025. “To me, an engagement is really about a love for oneself.”
She added, “I’m just really excited for this new time in my life. The person that I’m engaged to, I love deeply.”

Sosa is an investment banker who graduated from Brigham Young University, according to his LinkedIn profile.
His Instagram page is private with only 500 followers and seven posts. Sosa doesn’t have a bio with further details on his social media profiles.

King told Us in October 2025 that she and Sosa “met through mutual friends” in December 2024.
“When I saw him, I was like, ‘You’re going to be my boyfriend.’ He’s like, ‘Wait, what?’” she shared. “I think it kind of shook him a little bit. And then the second time, I was like, ‘You’re going to be my boyfriend.’ Which is such a silly thing to say. It seems so childish, but I just looked [at him], I was like, ‘Oh, no, that’s going to be my person.’”

Details about the couple’s wedding are not yet known. King previously spoke to Us about the possibility of marrying Sosa.
“My main focus is not necessarily planning some extravaganza. My focus is chilling with them, enjoying my time with [my kids]. “What I’ve learned is that marriage and relationships are about reciprocity, truth, understanding, accountability, and the willingness to do whatever it takes to make sure that things are holistic and cared for,” she said.
