An argument between two Oklahoma brothers turned deadly over the weekend, with one stabbing the other to death, Us Weekly has learned from investigators.

The killing of Nicholas Spencer, 25, inside an Oklahoma City residence on Sunday, January 18, followed an argument over a video game, authorities said.

Nicholas was allegedly stabbed to death by his younger brother, William Spencer, who is 19, police said.

It was a game of Fortnite that led the siblings to squabble, but now, William is being held on a first-degree murder complaint. He has not yet been formally charged with his brother’s murder.

Us Weekly was unable to determine if William had entered pleas to that charge. It was also unclear if additional charges were being considered, although the investigation remains open, with police looking to speak with anyone who may have relevant information call the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Homicide Tip-Line, which is (405) 297-1200.

Florida Man Involved in Murder Suicide Over NFL Game Argument

Police were alerted to the deadly dispute at approximately 8:30 p.m., when William called 911 and told dispatchers he’d stabbed his brother and needed help stopping the bleeding. Officers arrived to learn the two brothers had been playing video games when William got angry with Nicholas and proceeded to stab him.

It was not clear what made William so upset. Police also have not said how many times Nicholas was stabbed, other than “multiple.”

William was arrested at the scene, interviewed, and booked into jail on a murder complaint. He is being held without bond. Us Weekly tried contacting his parents for additional details but had not gotten a response by press time.

According to an arrest affidavit, when questioned by police, William said, “I didn’t mean to, he was just yelling at me.” He further claimed that Nicholas got mad with him for how he was playing the game and confronted him about it, leading to the stabbing.

This is the second time this month a disagreement involving video games turned deadly.

Teen Hired Friend to Kill His Parents So They Could Split Inheritance

An 11-year-old Pennsylvania boy who went looking for his confiscated Nintendo Switch gaming system instead found a gun, which he loaded and then used to shoot his sleeping father.

Douglas Dietz, 42, has been identified as the father who was killed January 13. His adopted son, Clayton Dietz, has been charged as an adult with his father’s death.

As Us Weekly previously reported, Clayton turned 11 the very day he shot his dad dead.

The affidavit alleges Clayton told police he had a great day with his parents on January 12, as all three celebrated his impending 11th birthday. According to the boy’s adopted mother, Jillian Dietz, they all stayed up until midnight just to sing “Happy Birthday” to Clayton. But afterwards, when his father told him to go sleep and Clayton told police he got angry.

Once his parents were asleep, Clayton told police he went into their bedroom, where he found the key to his dad’s safe. He believed his Switch, which his father had taken from him earlier for an unspecified reason, was locked up in the safe, where the child found a revolver and bullets.
