
A 24-year-old Bangor man was arrested Thursday night after allegedly attacking his neighbor with a machete.
Bangor police responded to Sunset Avenue at about 6:40 p.m. for a report of a man being attacked by his neighbor with a machete.
Officers found the victim, who had been able to disarm his attacker and had several lacerations on his head. He was treated at a local hospital for his injuries and is expected to recover.
The victim identified his neighbor, Zachary Wright, as the attacker and told police they had previous issues.
Wright was later found away from the scene and taken into custody, according to Bangor police.
Wright was taken to Penobscot County Jail and charged with aggravated attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault and aggravated assault.
