Zachery Ty Bryan’s former fiancée, Johnnie Cartwright, was nearly double the legal limit when she was arrested in November for DUI, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal.
Cartwright, 32, “refused to provide a blood alcohol sample as requested,” the prosecutor told the judge at her sentencing on Wednesday, January 14.
After obtaining a search warrant, authorities took her blood “about eight and a half hours” after a bystander called 911 to report a female (Cartwright) attempting to run over a male (Bryan) with her truck.
Police then discovered that Cartwright’s BAC was .164%, “roughly double the legal limit.”
Cartwright was sentenced to 24 months of probation after pleading guilty to DUI, Us has confirmed.
She also pleaded guilty to reckless driving, and the charge of recklessly endangering another person was dismissed.
During her sentencing, the prosecutor shared that Cartwright “had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her breath” on the day of her arrest and “made repetitive statements, and fluctuated between being agitated and crying.”
Cartwright’s attorney said her client was “extremely regretful” of her actions.

She also touched on Cartwright’s “tumultuous relationship” with Bryan, 44, and revealed the two are no longer together.
“He had been convicted of domestic violence and is pending a revocation of his downward departure for contacting Ms. Cartwright at the time of this incident. She was told by him that his probation had been completed and that he was able to have contact with her,” the lawyer stated. “In my discussions with her, I let her know that that was indeed not the case. They have a tumultuous relationship. It’s the best way to summarize it. They do share 3 small children, and she depends on him financially quite a bit.”
On the day of the incident, Bryan was arrested for violating probation as a result of a prior assault conviction. He was released from police custody on December 10, 2025.
Cartwright was released from jail on December 3, 2025, but was back in custody shortly thereafter after violating her pretrial release.

Cartwright’s attorney gave the judge an update on her progress since being rereleased on December 19, 2025.
“She’s living with her mother and still is able to have custody of the children,” her lawyer stated at her sentencing. “She’s not drinking alcohol at this time either, so she’s wanting to continue on with her sobriety.”
Cartwright also spoke to the judge and seemed optimistic about her future.
“I’m just here to take accountability,” she said, per the court audio. “Everything happens for a reason. Me and the girls are doing great, and I’m just hoping to continue on to keep the separation from the father.”
