TLC’s hit docuseries Unexpected is finally back and already full of surprises.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive first look at season 7 of the reality show, viewers get to meet eight students navigating pregnancy and parenthood in their teenage years.
One couple experiencing a rocky relationship is Isabella, 18, and Bryce, 18. In addition to navigating a pregnancy, the pair also have to overcome their parents not getting along.
“Bryce needs anger management,” Isabella’s mom Tasha says in the clip. “He’s a manipulative, narcissistic, piece of s***.”

Bryce’s mom Connie adds, “You should hear how your daughter calls my son a little bitch.”
Viewers also meet Bella, 15, and Hunter, 13, who are trying their best to grow up quickly.
“I don’t want him to be held back in the 8th grade,” Bella’s mom Falen shares in the trailer.
Bella replies, “I don’t want him to be a tenth grader dating an eighth grader. We’ve got a toddler.”
Elsewhere in the preview, viewers meet 16-year-olds Amya and Jose. While sitting down with her mom, Amya shares some misinformation she heard back in the day.
“I heard my mom say it was harder for bigger girls to get pregnant,” she claims to her mom’s shock and awe. “Like, there was no way.” Spoiler: That advice is false.
Finally, 16-year-olds Mia and Jessie say they are ready to become parents. Unfortunately, their moms and dads aren’t exactly getting along with each other.
“When I first met Jessie, I kind of didn’t like him,” Mia’s dad Keith shares without any filter. “And then this [pregnancy] happened. I definitely don’t like the kid now.”
Another clip shows Jessie’s mom arguing with Mia’s mom about who should attend doctor’s appointments. Pop the popcorn because things are going to get tense and dramatic.
Unexpected first premiered in 2017 and continues to capture the emotional highs and lows of teen pregnancy. Cameras roll as kids try to become adults and navigate financial pressures and evolving family dynamics as they prepare for a new normal.
“This season brings together a mix of new teen couples, ages 13 to 18, offering an unfiltered look at the moments that shape their journeys,” TLC shares in a press release. “From baby showers, to births, to unexpectedly difficult decisions, grandparents step in, opinions collide and tensions rise as everyone pushes for what they believe is best for the baby.”

One familiar face who won’t be part of season 7 is fan-favorite Jenna Ronan.
“I am no longer going to be doing Unexpected,” she revealed via TikTok in April 2025. “I think a lot of people get confused still and the No. 1 question I get asked is if I’m pregnant still and where is my baby. My baby that I was pregnant with at the end of Season 6, he is 1-and-a-half years old now, his name is Jim Richard and that’s about it.”
