Meghan Trainor is reacting once again after being pulled into the “toxic” mom group drama sweeping the internet.
In a Monday, January 12, TikTok video, Trainor filmed herself lip-synching along to an audio clip from Stranger Things season 5, in which young Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher) tries to convince her peers that their pal Mr. Whatsit is actually evil.
“Come on, you have to believe me. Please! You have to believe me. You have to,” the singer mouths along to Holly in the clip.
Trainor wrote over the video, “Me still trying to convince everyone I’m not involved in the mom group drama.”

And if her video wasn’t convincing enough, the “All About That Bass” singer captioned the post, “I swear I’m innocent,” with a praying hands emoji.
Trainor, Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff have all found themselves the subject of internet speculation about a “toxic” group of mom friends after High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale French penned a now-viral essay for The Cut. In the piece, Tisdale French, 40, said she left a mom group because it was beginning to feel like “high school.”
“I remember being left out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story,” the actress wrote. “I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me. … I told myself it was all in my head, and it wasn’t a big deal. And yet, I could sense a growing distance between me and the other members of the group, who seemed to not even care that I wasn’t around much.”
While Tisdale French did not identify the women in question, she has in the past documented playdates with her fellow celebrities, who also have young children like her. (Tisdale French and husband Christopher French share daughters Jupiter, 4, and Emerson, 16 months.)

The former Disney Channel star said she exited the group after telling the other women that the dynamic felt “too high school for me, and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”
Tisdale French’s representative later told TMZ that the article was not about Duff, Moore and Trainor, after social media users began to speculate about the essay.
Trainor, for her part, previously weighed in on the ensuing drama in a Thursday, January 8, TikTok video.
The singer filmed herself sitting at a desk and writing on a computer, accompanied by audio from her song “Still Don’t Care.”

Trainor wrote over the video, “Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama.”
Trainor’s husband, Daryl Sabara, also shared his thoughts on the drama to TMZ. The Spy Kids actor and the singer share sons Riley, 4, and Barry, 2.
“No drama over here, just trying to keep the kids happy,” he said on Thursday.
“I don’t really know what’s going on,” he continued, adding, “I hope she’s OK, though,” referring to Tisdale French.
Earlier in January, a source exclusively told Us Weekly about Tisdale French’s mom group drama, “The root of the issues was that some of the women just became closer friends with each other, and Ashley started to feel left out.”
The insider added, “There were times when hangouts or get-togethers were organized at the last minute, often casual outings or quick dinners, and Ashley wasn’t included. There wasn’t any bad intent. Friendships naturally changed and some people bonded more than others.”
