Leonardo DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another was up for nine nominations at the 2026 Golden Globes, but his stress level appeared to be at an all-time low.
The New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan offered fans live updates during the show hosted at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 11. He shared one video that showed DiCaprio, 51, having a one-sided conversation with someone else in the ballroom.
The social media lip readers struck again when trying to decipher what DiCaprio was saying — and it appeared to be about K-pop.
“I was watching you with the K-pop thing,” DiCaprio appeared to be saying in the clip, using several hand gestures to get his point across. He started pointing and laughing at whomever he was speaking to.
“You were like, ‘Is that? K-pop?’” he appeared to continue, before looking around and clapping. DiCaprio enjoyed the entire interaction, continuing to laugh as the video came to an end.

DiCaprio, who lost the Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy category to Timothée Chalamet, appeared to be in good spirits throughout the entire evening. He even took it in stride at the top of the show when Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser poked fun at his dating preferences.
“Leonardo DiCaprio is here for One Man Bun After Another,” Glaser, 41, quipped at the top of the show. “How good was Leo in One Battle After Another? It’s insane, so good.”

She continued. “What a career you’ve had, countless iconic performances, you’ve worked with every great director, you’ve won three Golden Globes, an Oscar — most important thing is you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30. I mean, it’s just insane.”
Glaser was referring to DiCaprio’s 27-year-old girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, whom he’s been dating since 2023.
“Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap,” Glaser continued. “I tried not to, but like we don’t know anything else about you. There’s nothing else, like, open up.”
She added, “I searched [and] the most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was in Teen Beat magazine in 1991. Is your favorite food still, ‘pasta and more pasta?’ Look it up, that’s real.”

DiCaprio appeared shocked that Glaser knew his favorite food, giving her a thumbs up — affirming that he still loves pasta (who doesn’t) — and pointing at the Golden Globes host.
While DiCaprio didn’t take home an award during Sunday night’s awards ceremony, his One Battle After Another costar Teyana Taylor took home the accolade for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture.
“My gratitude is endless. I love you, we love you, and thank you so much for holding space for me and our entire cast,” Taylor, 35, said during her acceptance speech, giving a shout-out to “every single person who has touched this project.”
Taylor did get censored during her speech, noting that “this s*** is heavy,” referring to her award. “None of this is taken lightly, and none of this is taken for granted.”
