A who’s who of Hollywood funnymen went head to head for one of the night’s top prizes at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards.

Seth Rogen ultimately overcame his fellow A-list contenders in the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy category during the Sunday, January 11, ceremony at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, earning the honor for his role in The Studio.

“This is so weird! We just pretended to do this,” Rogen, 43, joked while accepting his award. “And now it is happening! I thought the only way I would get to hold one is to create a show to give myself a fake one.” (Season 1 of the The Studio featured a faux Golden Globe ceremony in which Rogan’s character also took home a win.)

The other nominees in the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy category were Adam Brody for Nobody Wants This, Glen Powell for Chad Powers, Jeremy Allen White for The Bear and Martin Short and Steve Martin for Only Murders in the Building.

In his acceptance speech, Rogen acknowledged his fellow nominees in his own signature humor.

“Steve Martin, Martin Short especially,” he said. “I remember growing up watching you guys my whole life thinking one day I’m going to beat them – I did not think that.”

Of the six contenders, White, 34, was the only Golden Globe winner prior to Sunday’s awards show. He received Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for three consecutive years between 2023 and 2025 for his work on The Bear.

White was also a double nominee this year, securing an additional nod for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. He competed against The Smashing Machine’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Train Dreams’ Joel Edgerton, Sinners’ Michael B. Jordan, Frankenstein’s Oscar Isaac and The Secret Agent’s Wagner Moura in the category.
