Leonardo DiCaprio may not have picked up an award at the 2026 Golden Globes, but he did set the internet alight nonetheless!
The One Battle After Another star, 51, appeared to get into an animated exchange, possibly about K-pop, with someone amid a commercial break during the Globes, which aired Sunday, January 11, on CBS and Paramount+.
DiCaprio appeared to point at someone off-camera before making several playful expressions with his hands and face, laughing and smiling throughout the exchange. It’s not yet known who the Oscar winner was talking to, but he seemed to be in a great mood as he then signed an autograph for a fan, per footage shared on the Globes’ TikTok account.
“Something has activated Leonardo DiCaprio during this commercial break,” The New York Times’ Kyle Buchanan wrote via X, sharing a clip of DiCaprio’s whimsical moment.

The Entertainment Tonight X account also posted a clip of the actor, writing, “We simply need to know who Leonardo DiCaprio was talking to during the commercial break at the #GoldenGlobes 🤔😂.”
One viewer shared in an X post, “Leonardo DiCaprio is so intriguing.”
On Sunday night, DiCaprio was up for Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for his role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. However, the award went to Marty Supreme star Timothée Chalamet, who also fended off competition from George Clooney (Jay Kelly), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Lee Byung-hun (No Other Choice) and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia).
While he went home empty-handed, the Titanic star was a good sport as host Nikki Glaser joked about his love life. DiCaprio is currently dating model Victoria Ceretti, 27.

“Leonardo DiCaprio is here for One Man Bun After Another,” Glaser quipped. “How good was Leo in One Battle After Another? It’s insane, so good. What a career you’ve had, countless iconic performances, you’ve worked with ever great director, you’ve won three Golden Globes, an Oscar — most important thing is you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30. I mean, it’s just insane.”
Glaser then apologized, telling DiCaprio, “Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap. I tried not to, but like we don’t know anything else about you.”
“There’s nothing else, like, open up. I searched [and] the most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was in Teen Beat magazine in 1991. Is your favorite food still, ‘pasta and more pasta?’ Look it up, that’s real,” she continued.
DiCaprio also found himself in the crosshairs of comedian Chelsea Handler’s opening monologue during the 2026 Critics Choice Awards earlier in January.

“Leo’s here, thank God,” Handler quipped at the January 4 awards hsow. “Leo almost didn’t make it tonight because he was trapped on a boat in St. Barts. It was just like the Titanic, but worse, because Jeff Bezos was there.”
DiCaprio appeared to laugh off the joke, which was comforting for Golden Globes host Glaser.
“It was nice that I got to watch the Critics Choice Awards and see if he’s in the mood to laugh about himself,” Glaser said during a Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance on Tuesday, January 6. “And he did. He seems like he has a good sense of humor about himself.”
Glaser added, “I come in peace, and I’m glad that I really loved his performance in One Battle [After Another] and can really lay that on thick before I go in for the kill.”
