Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard put on a united front on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet after their awkward podcast interview with Cher days earlier.
The “Armchair Expert” host, 51, donned a black-and-white tuxedo alongside his wife, who was wearing an asymmetric black Giorgio Armani Privé gown with multicolored flourishes across the chest. The couple were all smiles as they posed on the press line at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday, January 11.
Bell, 45, is nominated for a Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her performance as Joanne Williams in Netflix comedy Nobody Wants This. She is competing against Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Selena Gomez (Only Murders in the Building), Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face), Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) and Jean Smart (Hacks).
Meanwhile, Shepard’s hit podcast, “Armchair Expert,” is up against “Call Her Daddy,” “Good Hang with Amy Poehler,” “The Mel Robbins Podcast,” “SmartLess” and “Up First” for the Golden Globes’ first-ever Best Podcast Award.

Bell admitted to E!’s Live From the Red Carpet that she considered herself a “hype man” for Shepard’s podcast and predicted she might even “lose [her] mind” when his category is announced.
The couple made a pair of back-to-back red carpet appearances this weekend, as they coordinated his-and-hers black suits at Vanity Fair and Amazon MGM’s awards season celebration on Saturday, January 10. Shepard even supported his wife by brushing away a few flyaway hairs on her shoulder as she posed for pictures.
Prior to this weekend, Shepard found himself in the hot seat on his own “Armchair Expert” podcast when Bell and her Burlesque costar Cher, 79, guest starred on Monday, January 5.
The podcaster was on the receiving end of Cher’s trademark wit when he acknowledged that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has never been his biggest fan.
“Who would be your dream partner for her?” he asked Cher. “Cause I know you think she could be better, and I don’t disagree.”

Cher chuckled as she confessed, “The truth is, I trust her. So, you must have something that I don’t see.”
When the “Believe” singer pointed out that Shepard is “a good dad,” the “Armchair Expert” host mentioned he’s also “not threatened by” his wife “shining.”
“I love it. The shinier she gets, the better,” he insisted.
Bell jumped to her husband’s defense by assuring Cher that there’s “a lot [more] to this man” than the legendary singer might realize.
“Trust me, he’s a slow burn, but you’re gonna learn to love him,” Bell told Cher. “He’s almost too good for me.”
Bell described Shepard as the kind of husband who “polishes you so you shine more,” which Cher said she was glad to hear.

Elsewhere, Shepard turned heads on the same podcast episode by revealing an unexpected promise that he recently made to his 11-year-old daughter, Delta.
“Delta was saying how she can’t wait to have a baby,” he revealed on air. “I said, ‘When do you think you’ll have your first child, when you turn 18?’ I want to be supportive of whatever.”
Delta said she might want to become a mom in her “mid-20s,” so Shepard offered to pay to freeze her eggs when she’s of age.
“I said, ‘If you want to, we’ll freeze your eggs when you’re 18.’ I’ll pay for you to get your eggs frozen so you don’t have to think about that,” he said.
Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” costar Monica Padman praised his “lovely” gesture, though they both questioned whether Delta might change her mind as she grows up.
“[Her mid-20s] won’t be time for her to be in the house every night with a child,” Shepard pointed out.
Bell and Shepard also share 12-year-old daughter Lincoln. The Veronica Mars actress tied the knot with Shepard in Beverly Hills in October 2013.
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Nikki Glaser, airs on Sunday, January 11, on CBS and Paramount+ from the Beverly Hilton.
