One Battle After Another was the big winner at the 2026 Golden Globes.
The Paul Thomas Anderson black comedy took home four awards at the awards show during the Sunday, January 11, ceremony at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. One Battle After Another started the night with a win when Teyana Taylor was awarded Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. Sentimental Value evened the score when Stellan Skarsgård won Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.
However, One Battle After Another proved that they were the frontrunner after taking home Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The film was followed behind by The Secret Agent which walked away with two awards including Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Wagner Moura‘s performance.

Golden Globe Awards 2026 Red Carpet: All the High-Fashion Looks
While One Battle After Another and Sentimental Value appeared to be the frontrunners, movies like Sinners and Frankenstein also proved they shouldn’t be slept on. Earlier this month, Sinners and Frankenstein tied for the most wins among films at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. Both films walked away with four trophies each. Jacob Elordi took home a surprising win for Best Supporting Actor as Dr. Frankenstein’s creature, while Miles Caton won Best Young Actor for his performance in the vampire thriller.
That same night, Timothée Chalamet also made a case for Marty Supreme as he took home the trophy for Best Actor.
“You made a story about a flawed man with a relatable dream, and you didn’t preach to the audience about what’s right and wrong,” Chalamet said in his speech while thanking director Josh Safdie in his acceptance speech. “I think we should all be telling stories like that. Thank you for this dream.”
Chalamet ended up winning Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes as well.
