A Wisconsin woman crashed into a Maine state trooper’s cruiser on Friday morning.
Trooper Christopher Caldeira was stopped along with two other troopers on the Maine Turnpike in Wells, near mile marker 19, about 7:12 a.m. while investigating a crash on the northbound side of the highway, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Caldeira and the other two troopers had their emergency lights activated to divert traffic around the crash site, Moss said.
Then 31-year-old Priscilla Eydra Kifayatullah of Germantown, Wisconsin, allegedly rear-ended Caldeira’s blue 2020 Ford Explorer cruiser with her 2023 Mercedes Benz sedan.
Both vehicles were significantly damaged.
Caldeira and Kifayatullah were taken to York Hospital for evaluation.
The crash remains under investigation.
