Kelli Moore, the wife of former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore, was concerned about her husband’s welfare and pleaded with authorities to locate him shortly after he was fired.
“I’m worried that my husband is going to hurt himself. Can you guys track his phones?” Kelli asked 911 dispatchers in audio obtained by TMZ Sports on Thursday, January 8.
A baby can be heard crying in the background of the call, which was made on December 10.
Kelli and Sherrone, 39, have been married since 2015 and share three daughters: Shiloh, born in 2019, Solei, born in 2022, and Sadie, born in 2025.

“Why do you think he’s trying to hurt himself?” the dispatcher asked Kelli, who responded, “Because he said that to me.”
“He said he is trying to kill himself,” Kelli answered when asked what Sherrone said specifically to her.
When the dispatcher inquired about Sherrone’s location, Kelli said, “I don’t have a clue.”
“He just called me and said he got fired from his job. He’s in crisis,” she continued. “I told him that I love him and that I need him to come home. But I don’t know where he is. He said he was at a highway.”
The dispatcher then asked Kelli about her husband’s place of employment.
“He works at the University of Michigan … his name is Sherrone Moore,” she said.
Kelli added, “He’s called a couple times and I’m terrified that he’s going to do something to himself and I told him to come home.”
She asked the dispatcher, “Is there anything I can do?”
“No, just stay there,” the dispatcher told Kelli. “We’ll make contact with you, OK? We’ll make contact with you shortly.”
Moore was fired by the University of Michigan after an internal investigation uncovered an “inappropriate relationship” with a female football staff member.
Shortly after being fired and Kelli’s 911 call, Moore allegedly broke into the staff member’s apartment and threatened to harm her and himself.
“[The staff member] indicated that she was approximately 5 feet from the door when he made entry,” court records said. “She advised that she began backing up and as he was approaching her. [She] advised that Moore grabbed two knives out of her drawer and pointed them at her, ‘You ruined my life. You ruined my life.’”
Moore allegedly backed the woman “towards the living room” while holding the knives. Once she successfully got her attorney on the phone, Moore allegedly “backed up and turned the knives on himself, pointing them at his neck, saying that he was going to kill himself and that she was going to watch.”
After fleeing her apartment moments later, he was arrested in a nearby church parking lot.

He was released on $25,000 bond and ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor, in addition to dropping all contact with the staff member.
Moore’s next court date is scheduled for January 22.
