Three months after announcing their separation, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are not looking back.
“They are living separate lives and figuring out next steps,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “Divorce looks like it’s in the future.”
While Loughlin, 61, and Giannulli, 62, are in “no rush” to file paperwork (“A lot of financials need to be worked out before that is done,” the insider explains), they have started selling their assets, including mansions in Hidden Hills and Palm Desert, California.
“They are friendly. They don’t hate each other,” the source tells Us, revealing that the Full House alum even “invited” the fashion designer over for a family Christmas celebration. “It’s more amicable than people think or would expect.”
However, the insider says Loughlin and Giannulli’s 28-year marriage suffered greatly following their involvement in the 2019 college admissions scandal. (The pair pleaded guilty in 2020 to paying $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters, Bella, now 27, and Olivia Jade, now 26, into the University of Southern California as rowing recruits. Loughlin and Giannulli subsequently spent two and five months in prison, respectively, for their roles in the nationwide Operation Varsity Blues scheme.)

“The school scandal was a turning point, and they never really connected or recovered their relationship after that,” the source tells Us. “She felt that he got her involved. She didn’t fully blame him, but he spearheaded it. She never fully forgave him and never fully got over it, and they were never the same after.”
A second insider echoes that the estranged couple “drifted apart in the last few years” but notes that they “have always been able to maintain a united front” for the sake of their daughters.
“They grew apart and realized neither of them had much in common anymore as the girls got older and as the dust settled from the scandal,” the second source explains to Us, noting that Loughlin and Giannulli had “a lot of ups and downs” over the years and “both made mistakes.”
As the actress looks to the future, which includes a return to her Hallmark Channel show When Calls the Heart, the second insider shares that she is “really happy” and “in a good headspace.”
“It was hard for her to share the news with the girls, but they knew it was coming, and it wasn’t a surprise to them,” the source adds. “The dynamic between Lori and Mossimo is cordial these days. They are still in family group chats, and communication is friendly.”

Us Weekly has reached out to reps for Loughlin and Giannulli for comment.
The Summerland alum’s rep confirmed to Us in October 2025 that the longtime couple were “living apart.” Later that month, a source shared that “many people in Lori’s orbit” were “angry at Mossimo,” including her former Full House costar John Stamos.
“She goes to f***ing prison for this a**hole,” Stamos, 62, fumed on the “Good Guys” podcast at the time, telling listeners that Loughlin “didn’t deserve to be dragged through that.”
Stamos went on to say, “For a girl who has lived her life really well — a good person, a good mother, a good wife, I know all this for a fact — to be thrown into now this separation and, you know, exploding, blowing up her family this way, I just hate to see her go through this. I really do.”
