Denise Richards says her estranged husband Aaron Phypers’ family has “crossed a line” by starting a GoFundMe page.

“Say whatever you want about me, which they have. I’ll deal with that after the divorce. But when you cross a line and bring my youngest daughter into trying to get money from strangers — it’s outrageous” Richards, 54, said during her guest hosting gig on Tori Spelling’s “Mispelling” podcast on Thursday, January 8. “That is wrong.”

Aaron’s mother, Patricia Phypers, launched a GoFundMe page earlier this month to help raise money for her son’s “legal defence” as his divorce from Richards continues. Aaron’s mom referred to Richards’ youngest daughter, Eloise, 14, in the website’s description. Patricia claimed that she “cared for Eloise for weeks” while Richards was traveling. (Richards is also a mother of daughters Sam, 21 and Lola, 20, whom she shares with ex-husband Charlie Sheen.)

“Help my son fight for the truth and for Eloise,” she wrote. As of Thursday, the GoFundMe has raised $60 of its intended $30,000 goal.

Inside Denise Richards’ New Reality After Aaron Phypers Split

“It’s hard enough going through a divorce and the loss of that, but then to discover who this person really is, that’s what is beyond hurtful,” Richards continued during Thursday’s podcast episode. “Then to go to this level, to bring my daughter into it. It’s more a personal thing. It is shocking, but whatever. I’m not surprised.”

Us Weekly confirmed in July 2025 that Phypers filed for divorce from Richards after six years of marriage. She filed a restraining order against Phypers days later, claiming that he had been abusive during their relationship, which he has denied.

Phypers was arrested in October 2025 and charged with two felony counts related to injuring a spouse and two felony counts related to dissuading a witness by force or threat. He was later released on bail.

“We have not seen the criminal complaint, but we believe that it is most likely based upon the some of the same false accusations that Denise Richards has brought against Mr. Phypers in the family law domestic violence proceeding, which she claims occurred nearly four years ago,” Phypers’ lawyer said in a statement at the time. “If so, we expect that the evidence will demonstrate Mr. Phypers’ innocence and that he will be acquitted.”

A court granted Richards a permanent restraining order against Phypers in November 2025.

Later that same month, Richards spoke about the split during a panel at BravoCon in Las Vegas, explaining that her divorce has been “a process” and that she’s been blessed with a “great support system.” However, Richards told fans that it’s been “very daunting” watching her tumultuous divorce play out publicly.

“It’s different because on the reality shows, our personal life is out there,” she explained. “On reality [TV], you can’t pretend it’s not happening.”

Richards told listeners during Thursday’s podcast episode that she does plan on speaking more about her situation with Phypers — just not yet.

“I really want to get through my actual divorce, and then I will share,” she said.
