Jill Biden’s ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, and his family are making headlines after his current wife, Linda Stevenson, was found dead in her Delaware home over the weekend.
Linda’s body was discovered by authorities on Sunday, December 28, at approximately 11:16 p.m. local time following a call about a domestic dispute, the New Castle County Police Department revealed in a press release issued on Tuesday, December 30.
Linda was 64 at the time of her death. According to police, officers responded to a “reported domestic dispute at a residence in the 1300 block of Idlewood Road in the community of Oak Hill” on Sunday.
Once authorities entered the house, they found Linda “unresponsive in the living room.” While officers “immediately administered life-saving measures,” the report stated their efforts were unsuccessful and Linda was later pronounced dead.

Delaware detectives from the Division’s Criminal Investigations Unit were then notified of the death and took over, per the report, which noted that Linda’s death is under investigation.
Police added that Linda’s body has since been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy, which will help determine the “cause and manner of her death.”
The New Castle County Police Department is asking that anyone with information regarding “this incident” contact Detective Sean Raferty.
People reported on Tuesday that no charges have been filed in connection with Linda’s death, as the case is ongoing.

Prior to his marriage to Linda, Bill was married to Biden, 74, from February 1970 to May 1975.

Biden, meanwhile, told Harper’s Bazaar in May 2022 that she married Bill when he was a college football player and she was a student at University of Delaware.
“I believed so much in the institution of marriage,” she recalled to the outlet. “When the marriage fell apart, I fell hard because of that. And for him to turn out to be who he was …”

Biden noted that she was most worried about how to support herself after the divorce, so she returned to school and focused on bettering her life.
“I knew I would never, ever put myself in that position again — where I didn’t feel like I had the finances to be on my own, that I had to get the money through a divorce settlement,” she explained. “I drummed that into [my daughter], Ashley: Be independent, be independent. And my granddaughters — you have to be able to stand on your own two feet.”
Jill went on to marry former President Joe Biden in June 1977. She became the stepmother to his older children, Beau and Hunter, whom Joe shared with late wife Neilia Hunter Biden. (Neilia and Joe’s daughter Amy, born in 1971, was killed in a December 1972 car crash alongside her mother.)
Jill and Joe, 83, welcomed their only child together, daughter Ashley, now 44, in June 1981.
