Rob and Michele Reiner’s holiday card was received by their friend days after their murders.
“Today in the mail was a card from Michele and Rob Reiner!” Neda Soderqvist wrote via Instagram on Monday, December 29. “Even from heaven, they are still making sure that everyone receives their bonuses and what really truly touches my soul and heart are the cards that Michele wrote me and one of the funny things about her was each time she sent me a bonus she would make me promise her that I would utilize it for myself and not give it away.”
Soderqvist continued, “She knew me so well but today Michelle I promise you I’ll keep $100 and the rest I’m going to donate in your honor to one of the most inspiring foundations that I know you love thank you for being my best friend ride or die. Someone who taught me self-worth self-love and I will keep your legacy going forever and I’ll give you the oath that I’ll be here for your children. #michelereiner #robreiner.”
Soderqvist also shared a photo of the inside of the card, which contained a printed message — “May the holiday season bring peace, joy and love to you and yours” — and a personalized handwritten note.

“Dear Neda — what can I say after all these years! We love each other, are mad at each other, and then just move on! And it always works out! I hope you have a great holiday with your family who adore you — love Michele and Rob,” the letter read.
Rob and Michele were found dead inside their Brentwood, California, home on December 14. The couple’s son Nick Reiner was arrested the next day in connection with the murders. (Rob and Michele were also parents of Jake, 34, and Romy, 28. Rob also shared adopted daughter Tracy, 61, with his first wife, the late Penny Marshall.)
Us Weekly confirmed that Nick, 32, was held without bail on a suspicion of murder charge after the pair were found with “apparent stab wounds.” During his first court appearance, Nick declined to enter a plea. He wore a blue suicide prevention smock.
In the hearing, Nick only spoke when asked whether he was waiving his right to a speedy arraignment. He replied, “Yes, your honor.” The arraignment is scheduled for January 7, 2026.

Jake and Romy broke their silence on their parents’ deaths in a statement shared on December 17.
“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience,” the siblings said. “They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”
“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,” the statement continued. “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”
