If this is Hulu‘s last year before it gets fully absorbed by Disney+, then the original streamer is going out on a high note.
Hulu can’t match Netflix in terms of library of original titles, but the former’s projects are some of the very best on TV or streaming.
Now, the Watch With Us team is sharing our picks for the five best Hulu shows of 2025.
You’ll find that this top five includes a few of Hulu’s most famous shows, and they’re all deserving of your undivided attention.

5. ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ (2017 – 2025)
For the better part of a decade, The Handmaid’s Tale was Hulu’s signature original series. Earlier this year, the show returned for its sixth and final season to wrap up this adaptation of Margaret Atwood‘s dystopian vision of a future where women were treated like cattle and slaves. Elisabeth Moss reprised her role as June Osborne, a woman who spent years trapped in Gilead and fighting it on the inside.
Moss directed several episodes of the final season, including the last episode that brought June’s story to a conclusion for now. After spending so much time and effort to escape Gilead, June had to go back and discover for herself just how far she was willing to go to bring it all crashing down.

4. ‘The Bear’ (2022 – Present)
The Bear still seems more like a drama than a comedy, but there are some funny moments amidst the chaos and heartbreak. Season 4 brought the fate of the restaurant itself into question as Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Syd (Ayo Edebiri) and the rest of the staff were given an ultimatum to turn around the business or else face an immediate shutdown.
What to Remember Before ‘The Bear’ Season 4: Syd’s Secret From Carmy, More
This is a show that goes to some very raw and emotional places, especially with Carmy and his personal drama. There’s only so much any man can take, as Carmy reaches a turning point in his life and makes some big decisions that may shake up the entire series going forward. It was definitely an intriguing way to close out the season and set the stage for season 5.
The Bear is streaming on Hulu.
3. ‘Only Murders in the Building’ (2021 – Present)
Unlike The Bear, Only Murders in the Building is never so serious that it can’t be funny. This mystery comedy has also been reliably putting out new seasons every year with its core trio intact: Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. We can’t picture the show without Charles-Haden Savage (Martin), Oliver Putnam (Short) and Mabel Mora (Gomez) playing detective.
Season 5 brought the focus back on the trio’s home in the Arconia, which has secrets that they never suspected. That made the stakes a little more personal as Mabel and the guys once again found themselves in the middle of a murder mystery. Season 6 has already been ordered, and chances are good we’ll get to watch it sometime in 2026.

2. ‘Paradise’ (2025)
It’s too big a spoiler to reveal the true premise of Paradise, which is why we won’t repeat it here. The initial setup for the series was more than enough to hook us as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) comes under suspicion for murdering the President of the United States, Cal Bradford (James Marsden).
Flashbacks reveal that Xavier was once very close to Cal before a falling out poisoned their relationship. Finding out who killed the President and why is only one piece of the puzzle, and Xavier needs to clear his name quickly. There’s more at stake than just one man’s life, especially once you realize the meaning of the show’s title.
Paradise is streaming on Hulu.
1. ‘Alien: Earth’ (2025)
Alien: Earth had a lot of hype going into its premiere last summer, and it lived up to all of its highest expectations. Showrunner Noah Hawley had already delivered fantastic work on FX’s Fargo and Legion, so it wasn’t too surprising when he went for the hat trick. This show was the first Alien project in years that brought some fresh ideas to the franchise, as well as four creepy new alien species, including the fan-favorite Oculus.
I Just Watched One of 2025’s Most Anticipated New Shows — Is It Worth Streaming?
Synthetics/androids have been a part of Alien since the 1979 feature film, but Alien: Earth took things even further by introducing hybrid synths that are inhabited by the minds of terminally ill children. Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and the Lost Boys may be the first members of a brand new species, and she’s also shown an affinity for the Xenomorphs that no one else has ever achieved. Each episode of this series was thrilling, but none more so than episode 6’s extended flashback and homage to the original Alien. All movie-to-TV adaptations should strive to be as riveting and interesting as this series. Alien: Earth season 2 may be a long way off, but it is coming. And we can’t wait to see it.
Alien: Earth is streaming on Hulu.
