Two people are dead after an incident Tuesday morning in the Hancock County town of Tremont.
Southwest Harbor Police got a 911 call at about 8:57 a.m. about an incident near Big Rocks Road. The caller reported finding two deceased adults, according to Maine State Police, who did not disclose any further details about the victims, location or circumstances.
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating the deaths in coordination with Southwest Harbor police.
The Maine Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta will perform autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death, state police said.
State police believe it was an isolated incident with no ongoing danger to the public.
