Graves of veterans across the country are being decorated with wreaths from Maine’s own Wreaths Across America. Over the years, families who celebrate Christmas find comfort in that their family member’s service to our country is recognized with this touching display.

An enormous amount of work makes this program come alive thanks to the many migrant workers who work in Washington County. The wreath employees are an important part and should be celebrated as well.

Helping migrant workers adjust to life in Washington County is Mano En Mano, which provides support services. Mano En Mano helps in a variety of ways to help migrant workers feel welcome, whether it is providing warm clothes, food similar to their home country or educational services for the children.

Wreaths Across America is a vibrant part of the holiday season but they do not do it alone.
