Union Street just past Griffin Road is closed as firefighters battle a blaze Friday morning.
Crews have the road shut as an active fire burns at the Bangor Self Storage at 1286 Union St.
The fire erupted in the third of four buildings at the self-storage site. The fire appeared to be knocked down and under control around 11:40 a.m.
Drivers are being detoured via Randolph Drive while crews put out the blaze. The self-storage facility was the site of a fire just over five years ago. That fire in October 2020 heavily damaged one of the buildings.
