If you ask the Chrisley family, everything can change in one short year.
At the beginning of 2025, Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley were in the middle of serving time in prison as part of their bank fraud and tax evasion case.
Meanwhile, their kids were coping in different ways with having their parents away.
While Savannah Chrisley was working tirelessly to free her mom and dad, Chase Chrisley was struggling with his mental health — and growing more distant from his sister.

In May 2025, however, the Chrisley family received news that would change their lives forever. President Donald Trump issued a pardon for both Todd and Julie, allowing them to return home.
“For the past two and a half years, I’ve done everything in my power to fight for my parents’ freedom and bring them home,” Savannah said in a statement to Us Weekly on May 27. “This moment is the answer to countless prayers, and I am beyond grateful to President Trump for seeing the truth and restoring my family.”
Within months, the Chrisley family was back on TV, chatting away on podcasts and strengthening their relationships (well, most of them). Keep reading to take a look back on their unforgettable year in the spotlight:
Chase Chrisley Faces His Own Legal Troubles
In January, Chase kicked off the year by making headlines of his own.
The Chrisley Knows Best star was identified as a suspect in an alleged simple assault incident stemming from a night out at Twin Peaks Sports Bar in Atlanta.
At the time, a rep for Chase told the Associated Press that his client “did not assault anyone.”
In March, Chase said he was “one month alcohol free” and feeling “better” than he has in recent years.
In a September episode of Growing Up Chrisley, Chase also reflected on the incident, saying, “Everybody there says I didn’t put my hands on anybody, but I mean, it ended up with me with a mugshot. I think I kinda just hit rock bottom.”
Savannah Chrisley and Robert Shiver Split
After two years of dating, Savannah confirmed in April that she was single again.
“It’s been about a month and a half since Robert and I broke up. So there it is,” she revealed on her “Unlocked” podcast episode. “I have taken a lot of time to process things and truly grieve the loss of the relationship that I thought was gonna be where I was for the rest of my life.”
Todd and Julie Chrisley Are Pardoned
In May, Savannah received a call from Trump confirming her parents would be returning home from prison.
“It’s a terrible thing but it’s a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean,” Trump said via a phone call that was posted via X on May 27. “I hope we can do it by tomorrow. I don’t know them, but give them my regards. Wish them a good life.”
Savannah vowed not to stop her work in the justice system by declaring, “Today is a victory for our family, but the fight against wrongful convictions and injustice within our prison system is far from over.”
Todd Chrisley Returns to the Public Eye
Days after Todd was released from prison and reunited with his family, the reality star held a press conference with Savannah to set the record straight on some headlines involving his family.
“Even though this pardon has happened, I still was convicted of something that I did not do,” he said at the May 30 press conference. “It could be you. It could be any of you.”
Todd proved he didn’t lose his quick wit behind bars when Savannah addressed a rumor about the case.
“I think the biggest misconception right now is that I either paid for a pardon or slept for a pardon,” Savannah shared with reporters.
Todd joked, “That’s something I would do.”
The Podcast Returns
Todd and Julie made their official return to the microphones in July, relaunching their podcast — now titled “Chrisley Confessions 2.0.” The duo have since welcomed guests and discussed their prison stay as new episodes launch each week.
In an unexpected turn of events, Todd also got into a bit of a dispute with Southern Charm star Patricia Altschul in July after the Bravo star threw some unexpected shade.
“During the [post-prison] press conference I had stated that we are doing a hotel and it’s going to be near Charleston, South Carolina,” Todd said during an episode of the podcast that same month. He explained that Altschul commented, “Well there goes the neighborhood,” upon hearing that Todd and Julie would be in Charleston — where Altschul lives.
“I’ve never had an issue [with her]. … I’ve always held her in high regard. I always thought she was a classy lady,” Todd added. “This is a woman that’s in her 80s. She could be my mother.”
He continued, “Because at the end of the day, she’s old. She’s already, according to the tabloids, transferred her assets over to her son. I guess she’s getting ready for death.”
Back to Their Reality Roots
Todd and Julie ended their summer with The Chrisleys: Back to Reality premiere on Lifetime in September. The eight-episode docuseries followed the family while Todd and Julie served their respective prison sentences, and after their release. Cameras caught the couple’s reunion after they were pardoned and offered an inside look into what it was like acclimating to real life.
Chase Chrisley and Savannah Chrisley’s Feud
The docuseries also offered viewers an inside look into Chase and Savannah’s strained relationship, revealing that two had major tension while their parents were away.
“Savannah just wants to be worshiped, and I’m not doing that. I don’t know what her beef is with me,” Chase claimed during one of the episodes. “I know Savannah’s trying to paint me out to be this big, bad monster that’s not there for the family, but that’s just not the case.”
Savannah, meanwhile, claimed that her brother had been “nonexistent” during the process of trying to get their parents released from prison. The show’s finale showed them reconciling. By October, Todd revealed during a “Chrisley Confessions 2.0” episode that Chase and Savannah were in a “much better place.”

Chase Chrisley’s Addiction Struggles Come to a Head
Other than fighting with his sister, Chase also discussed his addiction struggles at length during his family’s docuseries. The September finale revealed that Chase went to rehab as a way to “handle a lot of trauma.”
Todd offered a real-time update on Chase during a September episode of the “Chrisley Confessions 2.0” podcast. “My son is doing good today,” Todd shared.
Lindsie Chrisley’s Tell-All Podcast
Todd and Julie broke their silence on a three-part podcast about their family, released by their estranged daughter, Lindsie.
“I don’t know many ways you can spin this s***,” Todd said during an October episode of the “Chrisley Confession 2.0” podcast. “I’m over it. I’m not talking about this stuff anymore.”
Lindsie has continued to deny any involvement in her parents’ arrest and subsequent incarceration.
“That’s just not true,” Todd hit back at the time. “It’s unfortunate that we have to get up to this again and we have to start addressing the same s*** that we’ve addressed for six years or longer.”
