It’s easy to understand why Hulu loaded up with Christmas-related programming this holiday season.
Most of the top 15 Hulu movies and shows are filled with Christmas flicks or TV specials.
All of that was taken into account when Watch With Us picked this week’s three popular Hulu movies and TV shows to binge-watch this weekend.
Our choices include a new take on a very old story, a classic Christmas comedy and a coming-of-age comedy.

‘Kevin Costner Presents The First Christmas’ (2025)
The First Christmas didn’t necessarily need Kevin Costner‘s name in front of it to tell you that he’s intimately involved in this holiday miniseries. The Yellowstone star produced it and appears on camera as he explains that the story of the Nativity probably wasn’t as cut and dried as it’s often made out to be.
What separates The First Christmas from other retellings is that it’s a more realistic take on the lives of Mary (Gia Rose Patel) and Joseph (Ethan Thorne), especially under the brutality of Roman rule and the lethal paranoia of King Herod (Anthony Barclay). The First Christmas doesn’t entirely brush aside religious conventions around the story, but they are kept to a minimum, and this is a refreshing take on a story that’s been told for roughly the last two thousand years.

‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’ (1989)
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation has become a holiday favorite that may have overshadowed its predecessors and sequels. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold, while their kids, Rusty and Audrey Griswold, are played by future stars Johnny Galecki and Juliette Lewis. The only thing Clark wants for the holiday season is to give his family a perfect Christmas, preferably without going nuts in the process.

When the extended Griswold clan shows up for the holidays, Clark is pushed to his personal and financial limits. Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) and his family make things even more complicated when they arrive unannounced. Eddie’s got his heart in the right place, but his gift for Clark might get them both into a world of trouble.

‘Superbad’ (2007)
The only movie that isn’t Christmas-related on Hulu’s top 15 chart this week is Superbad, the teenage comedy produced by Judd Apatow and written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who loosely based it on their own lives. Jonah Hill plays young Seth while Michael Cera portrays young Evan, a pair of lifelong friends who are going off to college. But not without one last party to land the girls of their dreams.
Their mutual friend, Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), is waylaid by his encounter with two cops, Officers Michaels (Rogen) and Slater (Bill Hader), who seem obsessed with showing him a good time and getting into trouble on the way to the party. Meanwhile, it’s a trying night for Seth and Evan and their friendship is on the brink of collapse.
