The 2026 Met Gala co-chairs have been announced.
Vogue announced which of Hollywood’s favorites will be serving as a co-chair this year alongside Anna Wintour on Wednesday, December 10. “At the 2026 Met Gala, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will celebrate its spring Costume Institute exhibition, titled “Costume Art” — and set to co-chair the fête are major forces from the worlds of entertainment, sport, and, of course, fashion: namely, Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour,” the publication wrote.
As for the co-chairs of the host committee, fans will be happy to see Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor and Lisa, along with designer Anthony Vaccarello, Gwendoline Christie, Paloma Elsesser, Vogue’s new editor in chief Chloe Malle, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson and Yseult.
This year, the event is themed “Costume Art,” curated by Andrew Bolton. “I wanted to focus on the centrality of the dressed body within the museum, connecting artistic representations of the body with fashion as an embodied art form,” Bolton, 59, said in a press release statement on Wednesday, per Vogue.
A Look Back at the Most Dramatic Met Gala Themes of All Time
He continued, “Rather than prioritizing fashion’s visuality, which often comes at the expense of the corporeal, ‘Costume Art’ privileges its materiality and the indivisible connection between our bodies and the clothes we wear.”
Vogue announced the theme of the ball in November. For the first time, the gala will take place at the Met’s new Condé M. Nast Galleries, which is next to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Great Hall.
At the time, Bolton shared that the theme addresses “the centrality of the dressed body in the museum’s vast collection,” adding that it “connects every single gallery in the museum to fashion, or the dressed body.”
“The dressed body is front and center in every gallery you come across,” Bolton explained. “Even the nude is never naked. It’s always inscribed with cultural values and ideas.”
Because the exhibit is focused on “the indivisible connection between our bodies and the clothes we wear,” fans are likely to see a number of naked dresses on the red carpet.
This marks Beyoncé’s first Met Gala in a decade. She last walked the famous steps of the Met in 2016, for the ball’s Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology event. At the time, she stunned in a naked latex dress by Givenchy Haute Couture.

Her look featured a flesh-colored fabric with puffy, long sleeves, a fitted bodice and a skin-tight skirt with a mermaid hem. The singer’s dress was adorned with floral and studded embellishments.
She styled the design with multiple diamond rings, a black manicure, and a neutral clutch finished with gold hardware.

For glam, Beyoncé donned a full beat, including black eyeshadow that was smoked out to her brow bone, bronzed skin and nude lips. Her highlighted hair was parted down the middle and worn down and straightened to her hips. She completed her look with sleek pumps.
