Summer House star Kyle Cooke is speaking out after his wife, Amanda Batula, claimed in the season 10 trailer that he fell asleep at a fan’s apartment.
In the first look at the Bravo hit’s return, which was released Sunday, December 7, Amanda, 34, voiced concerns about Kyle, 43, sleeping at a fan’s home before coming back “at 6:30 in the morning.”
Kyle later issued a statement to People addressing the claims. “There’s no excuse for staying out as late as I did, but I want to be clear that I did not sleep at a fan’s apartment,” he noted on Tuesday, December 9. “I was at an event that Amanda chose not to attend, which moved to a bar and then to an after-party.”
He continued: “I don’t use anything to keep myself wired, so I think I ended up falling asleep on a couch, and suddenly it was almost 6 a.m. Do I regret the situation? Absolutely. But that’s the truth and full extent of what happened.”

Summer House has documented Kyle and Amanda’s ups and downs since they started dating in 2015. The couple tied the knot in 2021 and have discussed plans to expand their family.
“We’re not letting the show dictate our lives or our future. We’re both not ready to have kids. But when we are, that’s it for us, and that’s OK,” Amanda told Glamour in May 2023. “I know who I am with my friends and my husband and my family and our people. And whatever is being shown online, how people feel about it, is just a version, a small snippet of who we really are.”
Sunday’s sneak peek at the upcoming season referenced the ongoing rumors that Kyle and Amanda were dealing with issues in their marriage. Us Weekly confirmed in November that Kyle and Amanda were going through a “challenging” time.
“[They are] both committed to making the relationship work,” a source exclusively told Us before the pair attended BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas together.
Before the trailer premiered, Amanda poked fun at reports that she and Kyle are living separately.

“Hey guys, it’s taken me a while to talk about this, but I just wanted to confirm the rumors that Kyle and I are living separately. This is my new house,” she said in an Instagram video on Sunday as she sat in a children’s playhouse.
“I just wanted to show you guys. This is my new house. It’s small, it’s kind of all that I can afford,” she joked. “I decorated for the holidays, I’m really excited. I could really use your support at this time and some privacy while we figure this out. Thanks so much.”
As fans continue to question the pair’s status, Kyle recently promised that season 10 of Summer House will include “explosive moments.”
“It’s a bit of a roller-coaster ride. I feel like I always say that, but on a personal level, certainly,” Kyle exclusively told Us last month. “I’m getting older, trying to keep up with the youngins that I’m trying to show how to party. We had an amazing time, and we always manage to find different things to do in the Hamptons.”
