BANGOR — Your Bangor Band welcomes you to the annual “Sounds of the Season” concert on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at Peakes Auditorium in Bangor High School.
The program, selected by Conductor Dr. Philip Edelman and Assistant Conductors Scott Burditt and Marisa Weinstein, includes pieces celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and the winter season. Following tradition, the concert will end with a Christmas sing-along led by our President Sue McKay and the seasonal favorite finale “Sleigh Ride.”
Before the concert at 1 p.m. attendees may attend Tuba Christmas in Peakes Auditorium. Tuba Christmas is a world-wide tradition that began 52 years ago in New York City.
Participation in Tuba Christmas is open to any musician who plays tuba, euphonium, baritone horn or other tuba-like instrument. For those who wish to participate, arrive at Peakes Auditorium at 9:30 a.m. to check in and prepare for a 10 a.m. rehearsal. There is a $10 fee to participate, and all participants will receive a Tuba Christmas button – and have a lot of fun!
Join us for an afternoon of community, fun and good music! As with all concerts hosted by Bangor Band, admission is free. Donations are gratefully accepted, and help Bangor Band offer a full program of concerts throughout the year.
