Chrishell Stause wasn’t afraid to tell Gwen Stefani exactly how she feels about the singer partnering with prayer app Hallow.
“Gwen-DON’T SPEAK,” the Selling Sunset star, 44, wrote in the comments section of an Instagram Reel about Stefani’s ad, referring to No Doubt’s 1996 hit. “Please take your own advice on this one🫠.”
Earlier this month, Stefani, 56, shared an Instagram Reel marked “paid partnership” that showed her talking about Hallow, “a Christian prayer app that offers audio-guided meditation sessions to help us grow in our faith & spiritual lives and find peace in God.”
In her video, Stefani encouraged viewers to participate in the company’s Advent Challenge, which involves praying every day in the lead-up to Christmas.

“It is important this holiday season to spend time in prayer. That is what Christmas is all about: letting God into our hearts and letting Jesus bring us his peace,” Stefani said in the clip. “Download Hallow and join me and millions of others in praying every day this advent and Christmas season on Hallow.”

In a caption, she added, “The season of Advent has always been a reminder to slow down, even when everything around us is moving so fast. It’s such a special time to reflect, pray and make room in your heart for Jesus. 🙏✝️💜The @hallowapp Advent challenge is called Be Still, and together we’ll learn how to find stillness amidst the chaos and embrace peace even when our lives are so busy. 🎄 Join me for Pray25: Be Still on Hallow. 🤍✨gx.”
While Stefani’s original video was “liked” by Kris Jenner, numerous Instagram users were not happy with her decision to partner with Hallow. “I love you, Gwen but unfortunately I ain’t no Hallow app girl. 😬,” wrote one user, referencing Stefani’s solo hit “Hollaback Girl.”
Another commenter wrote, “This is very disappointing, Gwen. Lots of your fans are from the LGBTQ+ community and this feels like a deep betrayal.” Additional users pointed out that it costs nothing to pray, with one writing, “God is free, Gwen. Touch some grass.”

Stause, meanwhile, left her comment on a video by “A Bit Fruity” podcast host Matt Bernstein, who pointed out that Hallow costs $9.99 a month or $69.99 per year and includes prayers and meditations that are explicitly anti-abortion. Bernstein further noted that the app was initially funded by Vice President JD Vance and conservative venture capitalist Peter Thiel, the latter of whom has called diversity initiatives “very evil and very silly.” In 2009, Thiel, 58, wrote an op-ed asserting that giving women the right to vote was bad for democracy.
Other celebrity supporters of Hallow include actors Chris Pratt, Mark Wahlberg and Jonathan Roumie, the last of whom plays Jesus in the television series The Chosen.
Pratt, 46, previously shared a partnership video with Hallow where he encouraged followers to participate in the app’s Pray40 Challenge ahead of Easter.
“Super excited about my partnership with the @hallowapp 🙏,” he wrote via Instagram in March. “I’ll be joining my buddy @markwahlberg in helping everyone stay prayed up until Easter with weekly fasting challenges as part of Hallow’s Pray40 Challenge: The Way. Get in on this with me!”
