UPDATE 12/5/25 — Tara Reid is opening up about how her mental health has been negatively affected since being hospitalized following a night at a hotel bar in Chicago.
“I’ve been honest about the fact that I don’t remember anything after my first drink. All I said was that I felt something was wrong and that I felt I may have been drugged, because I have no other explanation for why I woke up in a hospital gown with no memory of how I got there,” Reid told Us Weekly in a Friday, December 5 statement. “Seeing the media twist my words and attack me for not remembering has been incredibly painful and is severely affecting my mental health. I feel bullied and judged for something I cannot recall. I’m trying to heal, but the public scrutiny is making that very difficult, and I’ve been afraid to even leave my house.”
She continued, “No one ends up in the hospital for around eleven hours from drinking wine alone. I hadn’t taken any medication that day, and I know something wasn’t right. Whether I had additional drinks after that doesn’t matter, the fact is I don’t remember anything.”
Reid ended her statement by asking for “privacy, compassion and space to heal. I’ve shared the only truth I have: what I remember, and what I felt.”

Tara Reid is speaking out after Chicago police said there is no evidence that she was drugged at a hotel bar last month.
“Bottom line is, no one ends up in the hospital incapacitated for over [eight] hours after a drink,” the American Pie actress, 50, said in a statement to People on Wednesday, December 3, describing the November 23 ordeal as a “horrifying experience.”
Reid told the outlet that the last thing she recalls from the night of the alleged incident was “having one drink and waking up in the hospital the next day without remembering anything.”
“I believe I was drugged. Something happened to me,” she said, adding that the episode has been “severely affecting” her mental health.
“I cannot sleep over this; it’s a very scary feeling not knowing what happened to me,” she said in a statement provided by her representative.
Reid said, “That was the scariest feeling I have ever felt,” noting that she has never “felt so helpless.”
The Sharknado actress’ comments come after the Rosemont Public Safety Department — which operates in the Rosemont suburb of Chicago — told Us Weekly in a statement on Wednesday that surveillance footage from a Chicago hotel showed no evidence of someone “tampering” with Reid’s drink. The department said an investigation into the events remains “active and open.”
The statement said, “After receiving the report alleging her drink being tampered with, Rosemont detectives reviewed surveillance from the hotel which includes video at the hotel bar. In addition, multiple interviews have been conducted. While video surveillance showed Tara Reid at the hotel bar, at no time did [the] video show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink. We can confirm that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar, which is standard practice for bartenders to do.”

The department said it is “currently waiting for hospital records” related to Reid’s hospitalization following the alleged incident. “Pending those results or further information coming forward, our detectives will follow up on those leads accordingly,” it said.
The department added, “There is no criminal act that has been committed and there is no one we are currently investigating. While we do not have any evidence that a drink was tampered with, it is a good reminder to never leave a drink unattended. If you ever believe you have been drugged or feel unsafe, please reach out to local authorities.”
Reid first addressed the incident in a statement to Us on November 24, claiming she was drugged at a hotel bar while in Chicago for a comic convention.
“Tara Reid is trying to file a police report after an incident in which she believes her drink was tampered with,” Reid’s rep told Us. “She is cooperating fully with the investigation. Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time. She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone. She will not be making further comments at this stage.”

Reid filed a report with the Rosemont Police Department the following day. “There were a bunch of people in the lobby that were supposedly YouTubers. They had their phones out and the whole thing felt suspicious, but I didn’t know what was going on,” Reid claimed in the report, which was obtained by Us on November 25.
Reid said she was approached at the hotel bar by a man named Sean P., who introduced himself as a “very successful influencer and YouTuber.”
“We went out for a smoke, exchanged numbers and came back, and there was a napkin over my drink,” she reported to the police. “Then the last thing I remember was drinking that drink and seeing a couple sitting next to us.”
Reid said she last remembers “waking up in the hospital around eight hours later” and “not knowing” where she was or what happened.
