FORT KENT, Maine — A St. Francis man died Thursday evening after his pickup truck struck a tree on the St. John Road in Fort Kent.
Ricky Theriault, 70, was taken to Northern Maine Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Fort Kent Police Chief Michael DeLena.
Theriault was driving a black 2025 Dodge Ram west about 5:30 p.m. when he suddenly veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree, according to police.
A passenger in the vehicle was also taken to Northern Maine Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Poor road conditions are considered to be a contributing factor in the crash, DeLena said.
