Alyssa Farah Griffin is explaining why she’s been absent from The View roundtable.
“Hey guys! I’ve been down sick with a stomach virus but will hopefully be back on @theviewabs tomorrow,” Griffin, 36, wrote via her Instagram Stories Wednesday, December 3. “It’s no fun being sick while 6 [and a half] months pregnant!”
She continued, “Remember it’s that time of the year — be smart, use hand sanitizer, [and] stay home if you’re sick.”
Alyssa, who missed several The View broadcasts earlier this week, announced in October that she is expecting her first baby with husband Justin Griffin.

“Baby boy Griffin coming February 💙,” she wrote via Instagram, sharing a selfie of her baby bump.
Alyssa also shared the news during the live View broadcast, asking cohost Whoopi Goldberg if she wanted to ask her whether she is pregnant “again.” (Goldberg, 70, raised eyebrows in 2023 when she asked Griffin on-air whether she was expecting, later apologizing off-camera.)
“Baby boy Griffin arrives this February. I’m so glad to not have to hide it anymore,” Alyssa quipped on the show. “I can breathe.”
Alyssa and her husband, Justin, previously underwent multiple rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in hopes to expand their family.

“He’s here, he’s coming,” she said of her baby boy on The View at the time. “I’m great. I’m hanging in there. I couldn’t be happier. This is a big moment for our family and growing family, I should say.”
Alyssa and Justin have been married since 2021, telling People that same month how “excited” they were to become parents.
“It’s starting to feel very real,” she told the outlet. “This past week, I felt the baby kick for the first time, and immediately I grabbed Justin’s hand and he felt and I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, what’s happening?!’ It was magical.”
According to Alyssa, she and Justin attempted to conceive naturally for two years before undergoing IVF.
“You do feel somewhat out of control with your own body,” she recalled. “It’s hard to balance the hormones of it all, especially when you’re not getting the best news after a cycle. But Justin, he was never hard on me. Both Justin and I just feel so grateful that we were in the position that we were even able to do that many rounds of IVF.”

She continued, “I consider it a miracle of science, and just such a wonderful thing that we’ve gotten to where we are now. So yeah, there [were] definitely some tears [when I saw the positive pregnancy test].”
Alyssa further gushed to People that Justin was “the best partner in the world” throughout her pregnancy.
“They say, marry your best friend, and Justin is mine,” she said. “The View is hard work, and luckily I had the flexibility of the schedule to make early morning appointments in Midtown before racing to do the show. And my husband, he was there for me throughout it all, by my side at the doctor’s, right there with me.”
Alyssa is especially grateful for her soon-to-be brood this holiday season.
“Grateful for our growing family 💙,” she wrote via Instagram last month, sharing maternity photos in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday.
