There is a parking ban in downtown Bangor on Wednesday night.
Between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday there will be no parking on any downtown street, according to an alert sent out by the city, which anticipates extending that ban into Thursday night.
Any vehicles left on the street may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense, the city said Wednesday.
That ban also applies to most downtown parking lots.
This will allow crews to remove snow and ice from the roads.
People can park between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. in the lower level of the Columbia Street Parking Deck and the lower level of the Pickering Square Parking Garage on the Kenduskeag Plaza side, as well as between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. at the rear section of the upper Abbot Square parking lot on Harlow Street.
Outside downtown, people can park on the street without fear of being ticketed or towed unless a citywide ban is declared.
