Eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a continuity error in the With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration when it hit Netflix on Wednesday, December 3.
Meghan Markle returned to the kitchen to feel the holiday spirit and there was a surprise appearance from her late dog Guy, which had some viewers scratching their heads. The pup died in January, hinting that some of her holiday special was filmed late last year.
In the episode, Meghan, 44, could be seen decorating a Christmas tree. She hangs a cross-stitched ornament of her late pup, hinting the scene is from after the beloved animal passed away. (With Love, Meghan viewers know that Guy was a major fixture in the show.)
Everything Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Have Said About Their Rescue Dogs
Elsewhere in the episode, Guy briefly appears. Meghan puts on her festive Christmas pajamas at around the 17 minute mark and the dog can be seen walking around the kitchen. About two minutes later, Guy can also be seen standing by Meghan’s feet as she prepares brunch for friends Kelly Zajfen and Lindsay Roth.
With Love, Meghan viewers were quick to take to social media with comments about Guy’s appearance. Some criticized the show for not taking care to hide that parts of the holiday episode had been filmed last year.

Meghan shared a lengthy Instagram post in January, revealing that Guy had died nearly 10 years after she adopted him.
“I have cried too many tears to count — the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there,” she captioned an Instagram post. “But they are. And that’s OK too.”
Meghan told followers that she adopted the dog in 2015 after he was found at a kill shelter in Kentucky.
“I swooped him up … and fell in love,” she added. “They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him ‘Guy’. And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.”
The Duchess of Sussex concluded her tribute by sharing every life milestone that Guy was a part of.
“When I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom,” she said, referring to her relationship with Prince Harry. “He was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort.”
Meghan Markle’s Holiday Special Gives Look at Christmas With Prince Harry
In August, Meghan offered an inside look into her and Harry’s California home, sharing a photo of a sentimental gift the Duke of Sussex gave his wife. The Instagram Story revealed that Harry got Meghan a framed picture of the late Guy.
“Morning surprise from my husband,” she captioned the clip, showing off the black-and-white photos of Meghan’s dog. The video also featured Meghan and Harry’s 4-year-old daughter Lilibet kissing the framed photo. (The couple is also parents to son Archie, 6.)
The video was set to “My Guy” by Mary Wells, another sweet tribute to the family’s late pet.
