HBO Max subscribers are in for some good times in December as the streamer closes out 2025 on a very strong note.
On the first of the month, Mad Men made its HBO Max debut, and this is one of the most bingeable TV dramas that you’ll ever see.
It was the easiest choice imaginable for Watch With Us‘ three must-watch HBO Max shows you need to stream in December.
Our other picks include a drama/comedy series and a very funny anthology that recently returned for its second season on HBO Max.
‘Mad Men’ Cast: Where Are They Now?
‘Mad Men’ (2007 – 2015)
Getting Mad Men is one of the biggest coups that HBO Max has pulled off in some time. This is one of the few series that has a legitimate claim to a spot among the greatest TV shows ever created. This was one of AMC’s signature series for almost a decade, and it has some of the sharpest writing in the medium.
This period drama is set in the 1960s and focuses on the employees of the Sterling Cooper advertising agency. Jon Hamm had the breakout role of his life as Don Draper, a gifted storyteller who has hidden a lot of secrets about his past. The supporting characters all have interesting backstories as well, including Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss), Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser), Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks) and Roger Sterling (John Slattery). Watching these personalities play off each other is incredibly engrossing, and so is the way they create some of the memorable ad campaigns of the decade.
Mad Men is streaming on HBO Max.
‘The Bold Type’ (2017 – 2021)
The Bold Type had a five-season run on Freeform that ended nearly half a decade ago, and now it’s getting a chance to reach a wider audience on HBO Max. This is a very millennial-oriented show, and it focuses on three young women — Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens), Kat Edison (Aisha Dee) and Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) — as they navigate life in New York City while working for one of the most prestigious fashion magazines in the world.
‘The Bold Type’ Cast: Where Are They Now? Catch Up With the Freeform Stars
Over the course of the show, the series explores the romantic entanglements that each of the women dive into. They aren’t always successful when it comes to matters of the heart, but they also realize that they have grander ambitions that can’t be satisfied by working for a magazine for the rest of their lives. The show really comes to life when they start chasing their dreams, but that also means the risks they take may bring them crashing back down to Earth.
The Bold Type will stream on HBO Max on December 15
‘It’s Florida, Man’ (2024 – Present)
Everything you’ve heard about Florida and the people who live there is probably true. It’s not as if the other states in the country don’t have their own share of weirdness, but there seems to be a very concentrated amount in the Sunshine State. HBO’s It’s Florida, Man is a comedy anthology series that adapts real stories of Floridians and features Hollywood stars in recreations of their unbelievable exploits.
Season 2 of the series recently premiered, and some of the performers lined up include Tiffany Haddish, Adam DeVine, Haley Joel Osment, Johnny Knoxville, Swoosie Kurtz and Michael McDonald. Fair warning: There have been a few of these stories that end in death and possible dismemberment. Remember, it’s not just the humans who live in Florida. Some of the native creatures have proven to be fatal to anyone who’s dumb enough to get close to them.
It’s Florida, Man is streaming on HBO Max.
