Three people have been accused of drug trafficking in Auburn.

Brianna Reny, 26, of Auburn has been charged with aggravated drug trafficking and drug trafficking; Akil Charles, 31, of Brockton, Massachusetts, has been charged with aggravated drug trafficking and drug trafficking; and William Tardiff, 57, of New Gloucester has been charged with aggravated drug trafficking, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Their arrests are the culmination of an investigation that began back in December 2024.

While surveilling Reny’s Turner Street apartment in Auburn on Monday, police witnessed a vehicle driven by Tardiff leaving. When police stopped him and searched his vehicle, officers found more than a third of a pound of suspected cocaine, the MDEA said Wednesday.

Police executed a search warrant at Reny’s apartment about 6:30 p.m. Monday, and during that search, Charles, who was out on bail for a robbery charge, was captured after allegedly trying to flee through a window. Reny was detained without incident.

The search of her apartment reportedly turned up 2.7 pounds of cocaine, 1.2 pounds of fentanyl, just over a 10th of a pound of methamphetamine and about $18,200 in suspected drug proceeds, according to the MDEA.

The seized drugs are worth an estimated $75,000.

The trio were being held at the Androscoggin County Jail, Tardiff and Reny on $10,000 bail while Charles was being held without bail.

The investigation is ongoing, and the MDEA anticipates further arrests.
