Lacey Chabert and Andrew Walker are reuniting for the first time in seven years for Hallmark’s She’s Making a List — but is it similar to their last rom-com together?
“I don’t think so,” Chabert, 43, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, November 3, when asked whether their 2025 holiday film is anything like 2018’s My Secret Valentine. “I think they’re very different movies.”
The actress reassured fans that My Secret Valentine — which was about a woman exchanging chalkboard notes with her mysterious house guest while trying to save her family winery — and She’s Making a List, like all of her Hallmark movies, “have what audiences tune in for, I think, which is a happy ending.”
Chabert promised that her and Walker’s new film, which premieres on Saturday, December 6, will “leave you feeling uplifted” and “put a little bit of goodness into the world.”

In She’s Making a List, Chabert plays Isabel, a Naughty or Nice list inspector, who is tasked with determining whether mischievous 11-year-old Charlie (Cadence Compton) is in fact naughty. While the case seems routine, Isabel unexpectedly falls for Charlie’s widowed father, Jason (Walker), and soon questions the rules of her job entirely.
“This one is definitely very funny in parts, but it’s also very poignant at the same time,” Chabert said of the new holiday film, noting that working with Walker, 46, was “such a blast.”

The Party of Five alum was brimming with compliments for her screen partner after working together for the second time.
“He’s the kindest human. We’re very good friends in real life,” Chabert said of Walker. “Our families know each other. So it’s this sort of shorthand that comes with that that makes the work so comfortable. It was just really fun to spend three weeks with him in Vancouver filming this.”

While Chabert called Walker a “great costar” who can “ad-lib” and “roll with” whatever the two of them come up with on set, she teased the movie isn’t just about their characters.
“It’s not just a romantic story line in the film. I mean, obviously there is one, and people love to tune in for that, but it’s more than that,” she explained. “It’s the relationship that she ends up having with [Jason’s daughter] Charlie, the child that she’s there to observe, and she realizes the common bond and the common ground that they both share.”

Chabert shared that Isabel is able to have “great empathy and a much deeper understanding for what’s really going on” in the world — through the Naughty and Nice List — thanks to Charlie.
“While being very poignant, of course, it’s all still really funny, because she’s an inspector,” she added of the plot. “I have lots of different disguises and ways that I try to blend in. Ways that I’m very unsuccessful [at] blending in. It’s just really fun.”
Even though fans have to wait to see Chabert and Walker back in action, they can get their hands on Chabert’s new Hallmark holiday collection now.

“This is a dream come true for me. Hallmark came to me with the idea, and I was jumping up and down because I love Christmas decor,” Chabert told Us of the product line, which includes festive paper products, a serving tray and holiday kitchen items.
She gushed, “I love Christmas ornaments, and to have something that allows me to be a part of other people’s celebrations is just the best. I’m so proud of the line.”
