Are you looking for some thrills before November comes to an end?
Well then, you’d better look fast, because a few of the major streamers are about to lose a handful of great thrillers.
The Watch With Us team has taken it upon ourselves to choose three underrated thrillers on Netflix, Paramount+ and HBO Max that you need to see before November ends.
Two of the three picks are crime thrillers, while the other one is a remake of an all-time great conspiracy thriller.
18 Must-Watch Thrillers on Netflix Right Now (November 2025)
‘Emily the Criminal’ (2022)
Aubrey Plaza breaks bad in Emily the Criminal, and she only needs about 90 minutes to do it. Emily Benetto (Plaza) wasn’t exactly an innocent young woman to begin with. But she was boxed in by some bad life choices and locked out of any chance for a high-paying job. To make ends meet, Emily agrees to work for a scam artist, Youcef Haddad (Theo Rossi), who makes fake credit cards and engages in other illegal activities.
Emily’s a fast learner, perhaps even more so than Youcef expected. As Emily takes on a larger role in his operation, the criminal underworld becomes an undertow that she can’t escape. This is Emily’s life now, and there’s no going back to the person she was before. It’s just a matter of time before Emily discovers how far she’ll go to stay out of prison.
Emily the Criminal is streaming on Netflix until December 6.
‘The Manchurian Candidate’ (2004)
The 1962 version of The Manchurian Candidate is a masterclass of suspense. The 2004 version isn’t quite on the same level, but it’s got a handful of stellar performances by Denzel Washington, Liev Schreiber and Meryl Streep. More importantly, this is one remake that actually manages to fool viewers of the original into believing that they know where the story is going. That false sense of security leads to some very engrossing surprises.
18 Must-Watch Thrillers on HBO Max Right Now (September 2025)
In this retelling, Washington plays Ben Marco, a soldier who served in the Iraq War alongside Raymond Shaw (Schreiber). Everyone knows that Shaw is a war hero who saved Marco’s unit, but suddenly, Ben finds that he can’t trust his own memories about what really happened. Senator Eleanor Shaw (Streep) is one of the puppet masters in this conspiracy, and she has her son situated to be the Vice President of the United States. If Marco can’t find a way to prove that Shaw has been compromised, then the country they love could suffer the consequences.
The Manchurian Candidate is streaming on Paramount+ until December 1.
‘Public Enemies’ (2009)
The 1930s come to life in director Michael Mann‘s Public Enemies. This crime thriller touches upon the life of notorious bank robber, John Dillinger (Johnny Depp), a man who was once at the top of the FBI’s most wanted list. A few other historical bank robbers from that era are also in the film, like George “Baby Face” Nelson (Stephen Graham). But this is Dillinger’s story.
While living the life of an outlaw, Dillinger wins the love of Billie Frechette (Marion Cotillard) and the adoration of the public that considers him to be a folk hero. Christian Bale costars as Melvin Purvis, the FBI agent who hunts for Dillinger and his associates all over the country. Purvis doesn’t understand how anyone could believe Dillinger is an aspirational figure, but he’s such a firm believer in his own righteousness that Dillinger just can’t shake him.
Public Enemies is streaming on HBO Max until December 1.
