FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts — The Patriots will place rookie left tackle Will Campbell on injured reserve at 4 p.m. ET, head coach Mike Vrabel announced Wednesday.
Campbell will miss a minimum of four games on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in Sunday’s win over the Bengals. The soonest he can return is Week 18 against the Dolphins.
The team will sign cornerback Miles Battle from the practice squad to take Campbell’s place.
The Patriots placed cornerback Alex Austin on injured reserve Tuesday.
The Patriots plan to start Vederian Lowe at left tackle in Campbell’s place. Lowe filled in for Campbell on Sunday against the Bengals and has started 21 games with the Patriots over the past three seasons.
Rookie left guard Jared Wilson also is not expected to play this week, per Vrabel. Ben Brown has filled in for Wilson on two instances this season.
