Robert Irwin is staying booked and busy after winning Dancing With the Stars!

Irwin, 21, told E! News that he won’t get much downtime after the season 34 finale on Tuesday, November 25, because he’s about to head to South Africa to film another television show. (Irwin hosts the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! with Julia Morris. The new season premieres in January 2026.)

“I’m actually straight on to South Africa,” Irwin told the outlet after Tuesday night’s DWTS finale. “I go to New York and then straight to South Africa to film another show over there. And then I’m back home [in Australia].”

Irwin also revealed that he hasn’t seen the last of his professional dance partner, Witney Carson, with whom he won the latest season of the ABC ballroom dancing competition.

“Witney’s coming down to Australia,” he shared.

Carson, 32, added, “I am, next spring, I’m there. You’re not getting rid of me that easy!”

Irwin’s busy schedule comes after a grueling 11 weeks of ballroom dancing, including various ailments along the way.

Irwin was injured during rehearsals for the DWTS finale, which he revealed in a video package that aired on Tuesday night.

“I’ve been dealing with rib pain because the intercostal muscles of the ribs are under a lot of tension. It’s been getting worse progressively,” he told the camera.

Carson said she was “extremely worried” for Irwin’s safety as they headed into the finale. “At the end of the day, his health is my priority,” she said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Carson shared in a TikTok video revealing that Irwin had injured his ribs ahead of Tuesday’s final live show.

“Today at [camera] blocking is a little stressful … Robert’s ribs have been killing him,” she said. “You guys can get a better idea of what we’ve been dealing with all week.”

Carson said that she and Irwin had to “change some things” in their freestyle dance routine due to Irwin’s injury.

“It’s just honestly the most stressful part because this is just getting it all together and it’s gonna take some time,” she said. “We’re gonna have to run it a lot and just make sure everything is coming together for Tuesday. … It’s literally tomorrow, what the heck.”

“My body is feeling it, Robert’s body is feeling it. … I think I’m emotionally and physically exhausted,” Carson added in the video.

Despite their exhaustion, Irwin and Carson scored a perfect 30 for their freestyle as well as their cha-cha before dancing their way to victory. (The pair scored 29 points for their quickstep routine.)

Irwin’s victory comes 10 years after his older sister, Bindi, 27, won Dancing With the Stars with current judge Derek Hough.

During Tuesday’s finale, influencer Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy finished in second place, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa came third, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach finished in fourth place and actress Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten placed fifth.
