Kylie Kelce is looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving with her family — but will Taylor Swift be bringing any baked goods to the party?
“We do have some well-known bakers in the family,” Kylie, 33, said during an episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast on Tuesday, November 25, giving shout-outs to her mother-in-law, Donna Kelce, and grandmother Mary. “Taylor makes a banging sourdough loaf. I mean, it’s so good. And pop-tarts.”
While Kylie noted that she has some skills of her own in the kitchen — including chocolate chip cookies and banana muffins — she joked that she doesn’t need to go all out thanks to the other pros in the family.
“It’s covered,” she teased, “so I’m just gonna keep enjoying what is made.”
Inside Taylor Swift and Fiance Travis Kelce’s ‘Low-Key’ Holiday Plans
Fans have grown familiar with Swift’s baking talents, which were even discussed during her first appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce‘s “New Heights” podcast this summer. Swift, 35, revealed at the time that she was cooking up something special for Jason and Kylie’s four daughters.
“Right now, we’re very deep in a sourdough obsession,” she said in August, citing cinnamon swirl and blueberry lemon as some of the flavors she’s tested out.
Swift continued, “This one I’ve been workshopping for the girls, because they love everything rainbow: Funfetti sourdough. … They love sprinkles. We put sprinkles in everything when we hang out.”
Jason, 38, gushed that the recipe would blow his daughters’ minds as Travis, 36, joked, “She’s a loafer for life now.”
Swift’s treats might not make it to the Kelces’ Thanksgiving table, however. During Tuesday’s podcast, Kylie declared Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday and shared some insight into how her family is marking the occasion this year (and yes, the plans include a kids’ table).
“We have often shifted a holiday, just one or two days,” Kylie explained, reflecting on how the NFL schedule impacts their celebrations. “And that’s OK.”
How Kylie Kelce’s Kids Feel About Taylor Swift Becoming Their Aunt
Kylie noted that she and Jason “sadly” won’t be able to see Travis on Thanksgiving Day since he has a game. (The Kansas City Chiefs play the Dallas Cowboys in Texas on Thursday, November 27.)
“We do love to make sure that we make an effort, if possible, to see each other around the holidays,” she continued. “So it’s a little bit difficult when people are moving all over the place, and since everyone is not all in the same area, it gets difficult. But we make sure that over the holiday season, that we carve out time to see each other.”
Having been around the NFL for more than a decade while Jason was playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, Kylie said it’s “funny” to think about how much goes into the Thanksgiving Day games behind the scenes.
“You’re not really thinking about the thousand people that have to work that day to make sure that the broadcast happens, that the stadium opens, that there’s concessions happening,” she added. “All of those people are taking time away from their families on the holiday to make sure that everyone can enjoy this football game and sort of lean into the tradition, so shout-out to all the NFL families whose holidays are disrupted. … I’m sure that everyone will find time to celebrate and get together with their families the same way we have over the years.”
