An inmate at Mountain View Correctional Facility died shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, according to the Maine Department of Corrections.
Jon Brown, 67, of Portland, was attended by medical personnel when he died, officials said.
His cause of death was not released. The Maine Attorney General’s Office and the state Medical Examiner were notified, which is standard protocol.
In 2010, Brown began serving 45-year sentence for aggravated attempted murder after a home invasion in Gray.
