An 85-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road in Durham Tuesday evening.
Peter Lowe of Durham had been attempting to cross the Royalsborough Road to check his mailbox when he was struck by a 2019 Ford Escape at around 5:01 p.m., according to officials.
Sara Bolduc, 49, had been southbound on Royalsborough Road before striking Lowe near the intersection with Smith Farm Road.
According to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, the area does not have street lighting. Lowe was also reportedly wearing dark clothing at the time of the fatal crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
