ORONO — Orono High School (RSU 26) is excited to announce its upcoming fall musical “Hadestown: Teen Edition”. Audiences are invited to join this captivating re-interpretation of the beloved musical on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22 at 7 p.m. and a matinee on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m.
Set in a mythic underworld, Hadestown weaves together the stories of Orpheus & Eurydice and Hades & Persephone through powerful music, intimate storytelling, and modern sensibilities.
Featuring a talented student cast and professional pit orchestra, this stunning show has been months in the making and highlights the extraordinary skill, dedication, and artistry of our young performers. “Hadestown: Teen Edition” brings the Tony Award-winning musical to life with a fresh, youthful energy while honoring Anaïs Mitchell’s unforgettable score and the show’s powerful themes of hope, resilience, and the human spirit. This adaptation invites audiences into a magical, mythic world where music leads the way and love dares to defy the darkness.
