King Charles III personally reached out to Ozzy Osbourne’s family after the late rock legend’s death.

Sharon, Jack and Kelly Osbourne revealed on the Wednesday, November 12, episode of the “Osbournes” podcast that Charles, 76, wrote them a personal letter following Ozzy’s death in July.

“We got a lovely letter from the king,” Jack, 40, said.

Sharon, 73, enthusiastically added, “Our king! Now we’re talking!”

Sharon Osbourne Shares Ozzy’s Last Comments About Fans

“Our king, he’s an amazing person. Not just because he wrote to us when Ozzy passed … if he did it for us, you know he does it for many, many, many people,” she said. “Here’s a man who does know what’s going on in the street with people, not just politics. Here’s a man who cares about the environment, animals. He cares about many, many, many things. He’s got a good heart.”

Sharon said that the monarch “didn’t have to do certain things he’s done for Ozzy,” including sharing well wishes for Ozzy’s birthday in the past.

“When Ozzy was sick in hospital with the motorbike accident, he reached out,” Sharon said. “He’s a good, caring man with a good heart. Ozzy, as me… we’re royalists. We respect him, we respect his family. We respect. He took the time out of his day to write us, have it hand-delivered to us, a note from the king for Ozzy’s passing with his condolences. And that says so much.”

Kelly, 41, shared that she also received a handwritten letter from late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon. “There’s so many people that we can go on and on and on about that I never expected to hear from,” she said.

Ozzy Osbourne’s Death Certificate Lists His Job Title as ‘Rock Legend’

Ozzy died on July 22 at age 76 after a yearslong battle with Parkinson’s disease.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” his family told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

In a September YouTube video, Jack opened up about finding out about his father’s death while in Los Angeles. (Ozzy died in his native U.K.)

“I woke up in Los Angeles to a knock at my house door, at around 3:45 in the morning. Someone who’s worked for my family for probably 30 years now was knocking on my door. When I looked through my window and saw it was him, I just knew something bad had happened,” Jack said.

He continued, “I was informed that my father had passed. … Immediately, I don’t know … just pain. Sadness and pain. So many thoughts. You go through this of like, feeling sad and frustrated and angry. … But there was a level of like, OK, he’s not suffering anymore, he’s not struggling, and that is something.”

“I wish he was still here. I wish he was still with us all, but he was having a rough go, and I think people saw that at the show,” Jack added, referring to Ozzy’s appearance during his Black Sabbath’s final performance in Birmingham, England, just weeks before his death.
