Human remains found in the Aroostook County town of Blaine last month have been identified as a woman who was missing since July.
Tomis Hoyt was last seen on Robinson Road in Mars Hill and was believed to be barefoot and without any money. Her family said they had not seen or heard from her since July 13.
A local resident found the remains later identified as Hoyt in Blaine, which is just south of Mars Hill, on Oct. 30.
A spokesperson for the Maine Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed Hoyt’s identity on Wednesday.
