LEWISTON – Berman & Simmons is pleased to announce the election of trial attorney Christopher C. Boots to the firm’s shareholder group. Boots has been a vital part of Berman & Simmons since he joined the firm in 2018 after spending the early years of his career practicing in Boston. Boots has a statewide trial practice representing people who have been seriously injured by car and truck accidents, dangerous properties, defective products, construction hazards, animal attacks and equipment malfunctions.

Boots has developed particular skill at handling complex cases, including multi-vehicle crashes, accidents involving negligence by independent contractors and other civil suits with multiple responsible parties.  As a Maine native who loves the outdoors, Boots is especially well-equipped to pursue cases arising out of recreational vehicle crashes, boating accidents, snowmobile collisions and skiing injuries.

Boots is well-known for his work to advance legislation to protect injured Mainers as the co-chair of the Legislative Committee for the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. He has frequently provided testimony to the Maine State Legislature on matters concerning personal injury law and civil justice. One of his most notable achievements was securing an amendment to the Maine Wrongful Death Act that increased the statutory cap on wrongful death damages to $1,000,000.

Boots’ excellence has been recognized by industry publications including Best Lawyers® Ones to Watch in America and Super Lawyers Rising Stars.

“We are incredibly proud to welcome Chris to our shareholder group,” said Craig Bramley, managing director at Berman & Simmons. “His expertise, commitment to client service and fierce client advocacy exemplify the qualities that drive our firm’s continued success in high-stake cases. This milestone reflects both Chris’ professional excellence and the value we place on cultivating exceptional, client-focused leaders.”

A Maine native, Boots holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Stanford Law School.

Berman & Simmons (www.bermansimmons.com) is the preeminent plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Maine and New England, serving clients for over 100 years. With 14 attorneys, the firm has won some of the largest verdicts and settlements in Maine history. Recognized for its long history of trial success, the firm helps people seek justice and compensation in catastrophic personal injury cases involving medical malpractice, personal injury, vehicle and trucking accidents, wrongful death and sexual abuse, as well as other complex injury cases. Attorneys across Maine regularly refer cases to Berman & Simmons.
