Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause is still deciding whether or not to continue undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) in hopes of expanding her family.

“It was really hard going through IVF through the process of filming Selling Sunset,” Stause, 44, told Bustle in a Friday, November 7, profile, referring to season 9 of the Netflix reality series. “Now that I’m done, and after the reunion airs and the chatter dies down, I might give it one more chance.”

Stause previously underwent multiple rounds of IVF but was unable to secure any viable embryos. Stause’s spouse, nonbinary musician G Flip, is also planning to undergo an egg retrieval. If G Flip’s retrieval is successful, the couple has discussed using a surrogate to carry their baby.

“It’s a process and it’s expensive as well,” Stause explained of her fertility journey. “And now I’m looking for a new job, so I need to be wise about this.”

Elsewhere in Bustle’s profile, Stause confirmed her intention to leave Selling Sunset after nine seasons.

“I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past. I have to be honest — having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down,” she told the outlet. “I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially. I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health.”

In addition to chronicling her real estate career on Selling Sunset, Stause documented her relationship and fertility journey with G Flip, 32. Stause and the Australian drummer have been married since 2023, and hope to become parents.

“I’m literally still bleeding from a shot I had to just give myself,” Stause exclusively told Us Weekly in April. “We are actively trying.”

Despite the highs and lows of fertility, Stause’s relationship with G Flip has remained her top priority.

“I think what makes [our relationship] special is that we just really meet each other where we are, and it’s a really beautiful thing,” Stause told Us. “We celebrate every part of each other, whether it’s the parts a lot of people like or the weird, funny, silly, unique parts, us being nerds to each other. I just feel like it’s just really exciting anytime she’s in the room and vice versa, just because they’re my favorite human being.”

The next month, G Flip told Us that their fertility journey had been “very stressful.”

“Queer couples having kids, things not going your way, it’s been pretty sad at times,” G Flip said in the pair’s joint Us cover story in May.

According to Stause, it was especially “attractive” seeing how G Flip supported her during their hurdles.

“It’s something I’ve always loved about G. They make me feel very at ease,” Stause said. “When you’re at your worst, your partner takes care of you. … We’re in a situation where it’s not easy to have kids. It’s not like we can have one naturally. There are so many steps, there’s so much planning, there are so many complications and things that can go wrong.”
